A large object with an initial temperature of 150 degrees Fahrenheit is dropped into the ocean. The current temperature of the o

cean water in the area is 77 degrees. The function f(t)=Ce(−kt)+77 represents the situation, where t is time in minutes, C is a constant, and k is a constant. After 10 minutes the object has a temperature of 120 degrees. After how many minutes will the temperature of the object be equal to 80 degrees?

Answer:

t = 60.3 minutes.

Step-by-step explanation:

The function f(t) = Ce^{-kt} +77 ........ (1)

Now, at t = 0, f(0) = 150 = C + 77

⇒ C = 73

So, the function (1) becomes f(t) = 73e^{-kt} +77 ......... (2)

Now, it is given that at t = 10 minutes, f(10) = 120 degree.

Therefore, from equation (2),  120 = 73e^{-10k} +77

⇒ 73e^{-10k} = 43

⇒ e^{-10k} = 0.589

Now, taking ln both sides we get -10k (ln e) =ln (0.589)

⇒ k = 0.0529

Therefore, the equation (2) becomes  f(t) = 73e^{-0.0529t} +77 ......(3)

Now, putting f(t) = 80 degree, we have fro equation (3),

80 = 73e^{-0.0529t} +77

⇒ 3 = 73e^{-0.0529t}

⇒ e^{-0.0529t} = 0.041

Taking ln both sides we get, -0.0529t = - 3.19, ⇒ t = 60.3 minutes. (Answer)

Nancy was laid off and applied for unemployment benefits in July. In her state, the weekly unemployment benefit is 55% of the 2
tankabanditka [31]

Answer:

$277.91

Step-by-step explanation:

"The 26-week average of the two highest salaried quarters of the year leading to her application" would be the average of $13,500 and $12,775, or

$13,500 + $12,775

---------------------------- = $13137.50

            2

Dividing this by 26 weeks (equivalent to 6 months), we get $505.29.

Nancy's weekly employment benefit would be 55% of that, or $277.91.

zheka24 [161]
<h2>Answer:</h2><h2>The cost of ketchup bottle, x = 2.89</h2><h2>The cost of mustard bottle, y = 1.59</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the ketchup be represented as x and mustard as y

Briana  bought 3 bottles of ketchup and 2 bottles of mustard and for $11.85

3x + 2y = 11.85 ...(1)

Logan bought 2 bottles of ketchup and 5 bottles of mustard for $13.73.

2x + 5y = 13.73 ...(2)

Multiplying eq (1) by 2, we get

6x + 4y = 23.7 ...(3)

Multiplying eq (2) by 3, we get

6x + 15y = 41.19 ...(4)

Subtracting eq (3) from (4),

we get 11y = 17.49

y = 1.59, substitute it in eq(1), we get

x = 2.89

Therefore, the cost of ketchup bottle, x = 2.89

The cost of mustard bottle, y = 1.59

The exponential functions y=(1-25)^x-2/5. -10 is shown hraphed along woth the horizontal line y=115 their intersection is (a,115
evablogger [386]

Answer:26

Step-by-step explanation:

Y=1.25^x-2/5-10

Take log of both sides

So Y+10=1.25^x-2/5

So log to base 10 of the two sides of the equation is

Log(Y+10)=X-2/5log1.25.

To make X the subject, divide both sides by log1.25.

Log(Y+10)/log1.25=X-2/5.

Recall that Y was given to be 115

It becomes log(115 +10)/Log1.25=x-0.4

21.64=x-0.4

X=25.6
