Answer: The value of the center increases and the distribution has a smaller spread.

Step-by-step explanation:

Re - arranging the first value in ascending order , we have :

12 ,14, 16 , 19, 21 , 22 , 28 , 32

Median = 19 + 21 / 2

            = 40/2

            = 20

Also calculating the standard variation in order to know the spread , we need to first of all calculate the mean

Mean = 12 + 14 + 16 + 19 + 21 + 22 + 28 + 32  / 8

Mean = 164/8

Mean = 20.5

Therefore to calculate the standard deviation, we need to calculate the variance, which  is

(12-20.5)^{2} +(14-20.5)^{2} + (16-20.5)^{2} + (19-20.5)^{2} + (21-20.5)^{2} + (22-20.5)^{2} + (28-20.5)^{2} + (32-20.5)^{2}  / 8

Variance = 328/8

Variance = 41

Standard deviation = \sqrt{variance}

S.D = \sqrt{41}

S.D = 6.4

Also re arranging the second values , we have :

20 , 24 , 25 , 31

Median = 24 + 25 / 2

Median = 49/2

Median = 24.5

Calculating the S.D using the same format , the S.D = 3.9

Comparing the two we can conclude that the value at the center increases and the distribution has a smaller spread

Answer:

<h2>D. The value of the center increases and the distribution has a smaller spread.</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The given group of data is

Group 1: 12, 22, 19, 28, 16, 14, 32, 21.

Then, with the change

Group 2: 12, 22, 19, 28, 20, 31, 24, 25.

Let's compare both groups. The range of the first group is

R_{1}=32-12=20

The range of the second group is

R_{2}= 31-12=19

As you can observe the spread is smaller by 1 unit, because the range indicates the separation or the spread of a distribution. So, the possible correct choices are B and D.

Now, let's find the median to each group. Remember that the median is the value placed right in the middle. In this case, we need to use the mean to find it.

First, we need to order each group.

Group 1: 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 22, 29, 32.

Group 2: 12, 19, 20, 22, 24, 25, 29, 31.

M_{1}=\frac{19+21}{2}=\frac{40}{2}=20\\  M_{2}=\frac{22+24}{2}=\frac{46}{2}=23

As you can observe, the median is higher for the second group, that means the central value increases.

Therefore, the right answer is D. The value of the center increases and the distribution has a smaller spread.

A matrix contains 60 elements. Which of the following cannot equal the number of rows of the matrix?
avanturin [10]

<span>Given:

Matrix = 60 elements</span>

<span>To solve this, we need to take into account that each row must contain the same number of elements. So, we need to find which of the options do not divide evenly into 60 (the options are 30, 60, 10, and 18).

So we check each of the choices to see if 1 of them divides evenly with 60.

60 / 60 = 1 (divides evenly)</span>

60 / 30 = 2 (divides evenly)

<span>60 / 10 = 6 (divides evenly)
</span>60 / 18 = 3.3.3333333333333333333333333333333 (does not divide evenly)

Therefore, 18 cannot equal the number of rows of the matrix.

A $250 gaming system is discounted by 25%. It was then discounted another 10% because the box was opened by a customer. a. The s
iris [78.8K]

Answer:

a. Sale Price=\$168.75

b. Total percent discount=32.5\%

Step-by-step explanation:

First Discount:

Initial Price=\$250

Discount=25\%

25\%\ of\ 250=\frac{25}{100}\times 250=62.5\\\\Now\ Price=250-62.5=$187.5

Second Discount:

Price=187.5\\\\Discount=10\%\\\\10\%\ of\ 187.5=\frac{10}{100}\times 187.5=18.75\\\\Now\ Sale\ Price=187.5-18.75=\$168.75

Effective Discount:

Initial Price=\$250

Final Price=\$168.75

Total discount=250-168.75=81.25

\%\ discount=\frac{81.25}{250}\times 100=32.5\%

The difference in the x- coordinates of two points is 3, and the difference in the y- coordinates of the two points is 6. What i
USPshnik [31]

Answer:

2

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope or gradient of a line is given by dividing change in y axis by the change in x axis. Slope is represented by m hence m=\frac {\triangle y}{\triangle x} where \triangle y is the change in y axis while \triangle x is the change in x co-ordinates. Substituting \triangle y with 6 units while 3 units substitute \triangle x then the slope will be m=\frac {6}{3}=2

Therefore, the gradient is 2

Aleks04 [339]
So if 32 oz is 20% more than the average bottle, you multiply 32 by .20 which gives you 6.4. This means that the 32 oz bottle is 6.4 oz more than the regular bottle. Furthermore, 32 - 6.4 = 25.6 so that's how big the typical bottle is.
