A carpenter sells desks for $30 each and, at this price, sells 100 desks per month. The carpenter estimates that for each $5 inc

rease in price, she sells 10 fewer desks per month. If the desks are manufactured at a cost of $2 per desk, at what price should they be sold to generate the greatest possible profit?

Answer:

$47

Step-by-step explanation:

Selling price of desk =  p, $30

Cost price of desk = c,  $ 2

Number of desk sold = d , 100

Profit (π₁) =   d (p-c) ------------------------------- (1)

         π₂   =   (d-10) [(p+5)-c]-----------------------(2)

At  greatest profit    Δ π  = 0

(d-10) [(p+5)-c]  - [d (p-c) ] =0------------------------------- (3)

Substituting into (3)

(100-10)[p+5- 2] - [100(p-2)] =0

90 [p+5-2]- [100p-200] =0

90p +450-180-100p+ 200=0

90p- 100p = -450+ 180-200

-10p = -470

p=   $47

To make the greastest possible profit,  the carpenter should sell each desk for $47

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the equation as

\frac{3x}{5} -3=12

apply multiplication property of equality where you multiply every term by 5

\frac{3x}{5}*5 -3*5=12*5

3x-15=60------------------apply addition property of equality

3x-15+15=60+15

3x=75--------------------------appy division property of equality by dividing both sides by 3

3x/3=75/3

PICK MORE THAN ONE ANSWER:
ss7ja [257]

Answer:

The correct answers are "After adding the 0 test score, the mean would be affected.", ad "Before the missed test, Eva’s median score was 91".

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that the mean and median scores would not be helpful in determining Eva's abilities since the 0 is not a representation of how much she knows. However, it will affect the average as adding a 0 to the numerator and a 1 to the denominator will lower the average.

Finally, we can tell the median is 91 before added as when we line up the scores in ascending order, the middle number is 91.

Because we're rounding
The total price is $43.64

Find the area of the polygon WXYZ with its vertices at W(–3, –2), X(–3, 5), Y(2, 5), and Z(2, –2).
ki77a [65]

Answer:

The area of the polynomial is 35 square unit.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that area of the polygon WXYZ with its vertices at W(–3, –2), X(–3, 5), Y(2, 5), and Z(2, –2).

From the below graph it is noticed that the given polynomial is a rectangle with length 5 and width 7.

The distance formula

d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

Using the above formula we get,

WX=7

XY=5

YZ=7

WZ=5

The length of opposing sides are equal.

Using the Pythagoras theorem, the length of diagonal WY and XZ are

WY=\sqrt{(WX)^2+(XY)^2}=\sqrt{7^2+5^2}=\sqrt{74}

XZ=\sqrt{(XY)^2+(YZ)^2}=\sqrt{5^2+7^2}=\sqrt{74}

Since the length of the diagonal are same, therefore the given polygon is a rectangle.

The area of a rectangle is

A=l\times w

Where l is length and w is width.

The area of given polynomial is

A=5\times 7

A=35

Therefore the area of the polynomial is 35 square unit.

Answer:

Scatter plot graph, both 8 and 12 seem less likely to fit they are longer hours in the time axis x, but if we draw a straight line through 5hrs with a ruler, we see a mirror image of 4 to 6 and see less activity in larger amounts of higher hours spent between 7-12
