Answer:

(a)262144

(b)68719476736

(c)4.72*10^{21}

(d)4096

(e)343

Step-by-step explanation:

Since there are 8 kinds of bagels, at each bagels we have 8 different ways to pick a bagels. With n bagels there would be 8^n ways to choose bagels.

(a) there are 8^6 = 262144 ways

(b) there are 8^{12} = 68719476736 ways

(c) there are 8^{24} \approx 4.72*10^{21}ways

(d) A dozen bagels with at least 1 of each kind would lock down the first 8 bagels to exactly be one of each kind, the rest (12 - 8 = 4 bagels) you can freely choose any of the 8

So there are 8^4 = 4096 ways

(e) A dozen with at least 3 egg bagels and at most 2 salty bagels would lock down the first 5 bagels to be that. Furthermore, of the rest (8 - 5 = 3 bagels) you can only have 7 option each.

So there are7^3 = 343 ways

Question 45 A length of pipe that weighs 45 pounds is cut into two pieces. One of the pieces is 3 feet long and weighs 18 pounds
dmitriy555 [2]

Answer: 4.5 pounds.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Weight of original pipe =45 pounds

Weight of first piece = 18 pounds

Then, Weight of  other piece = 45- 18 =  27 pounds

Length of first piece = 3 feet

Let x be the length of other piece.

As length is directly proportional to weight.

Then, \dfrac{x}{27}=\dfrac{3}{18}

\Rightarrow\ \dfrac{x}{27}=\dfrac{1}{6}\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=\dfrac{1}{6}\times27 =4.5

Hence, the he length of the other piece = 4.5 pounds.

kaheart [24]

Answer:

The center/ mean will almost be equal, and the variability of simulation B will be higher than the variability of simulation A.

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution

Normally, a distribution sample is mostly affected by sample size.

As a rule, sampling error decreases by half by increasing the  sample size four times.

In this case, B sample is 2 times higher the A sample size.

Now, the Mean sampling error is affected and is not higher for A.

But it's sample is huge for this, Thus, they are almost equal

Variability of simulation decreases with increase in number of trials. A has less variability.

With increase number of trials, variability of simulation decreases, so A has less variability.
