Answer:

The number of nickles in drawer is 20 and

The number of dimes in drawer is 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

Total money in nickels and dimes = $ 2

Let The number of nickels = n

And The number of dimes = d

According to question

The number of nickels is three times number of dimes

I.e  n = 3 times d

Or ,  n = 3 d

∵  n + d = $ 2

and 20 nickles = 1 dollar

      10 dimes = 1 dollar

So, 20 nickles + 10 dimes = $ 1 + $ 1

or, 20 nickles + 10 dimes = $ 2

So, number of nickles is 20, and number of dimes is 10

Hence The number of nickles in drawer is 20 and

The number of dimes in drawer is 10 answer

Ksivusya [100]

Answer:

  $200

Step-by-step explanation:

The annual tax bill is ...

  2.4% × $100,000 = $2,400

On a monthly basis, that is ...

  $2400/(12 mo) = $200/mo

Taxes will add $200 per month to Bonnie's mortgage payment.

Kristel is considering hiring a moving company. Sanford's Plus charges an initial fee of $125 plus $165 per hour. Quality Moving
Anna35 [415]

Let the number of hours be $x

Initial charges by Sanford's Plus = $125

Per hour charges = $165

Total cost of Sanford's Plus company = 125 + 165x

Initial charges by Quality Moving Company = $200

Per hour charges = $145

Total cost of Quality Moving Company = 200 + 145x

If either company were hired for hours, the total cost would be the same

125 + 165x = 200 + 145x

Add -125 on both sides

125 - 125 + 165x = 200 + 145x-125

165x = 75 + 145x

Add -145 on both sides

165x - 145x = 75

20x = 75

Divide both side by 20, to find the value of x

x = 75/20

x = 3.75 hours

Total cost of Sanford's Plus company = 125 + 165x

x = 12 hrs

Total cost of Sanford's Plus company = 125 + 165(12)

Total cost of Sanford's Plus company = 125 + 1980

Total cost of Sanford's Plus company = $2105

a barangay has 1000 individuals and its population doubles every 60 years. Give an exponential model for the barangay's populati
sdas [7]

Answer:

P(t) = 1000e^(0.01155)t

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the population of barangay be expressed according to the exponential formula;

P(t) = P0e^kt

P(t) is the population of the country after t years

P0 is the initial population

t is the time

If barangay has 1000 initially, this means that P0 = 1000

If the population doubles after 60years then;

at t = 60, P(t) = 2P0

Substitute into the formula

2P0 = P0e^k(60)

2 = e^60k

Apply ln to both sides

ln2 = lne^60k

ln2 = 60k

k = ln2/60

k = 0.01155

Substitute k = 0.01155 and P0 into the expression

P(t) = 1000e^(0.01155)t

Hence an exponential model for barangay's population is

P(t) = 1000e^(0.01155)t

Use the fact that the variance of a Poisson distribution is σ2=μ. The mean number of bankruptcies filed per hour by businesses i
lianna [129]

Answer:

Variance = 5

Standard deviation = 2.236

0.2650257

Step-by-step explanation:

For a Poisson distribution is σ² = μ.

Given that:

Mean , μ of bankruptcies files per hour = 5

μ = 5

For a Poisson distribution :

P(x = x) = (μ^x * e^-μ) / x!

The Variance and standard deviation :

Variance : σ² = μ = 5

Standard deviation = sqrt(variance) = sqrt(5) = 2.236

B.) Find the probability that at most three businesses will file bankruptcy in any given hour.

P( x ≤ 3) = P(0) + P(1) + P(2) + P(3)

P(x = 0) = (5^0 * e^-5) / 0! = 0.0067379

P(x = 1) = (5^1 * e^-5) / 1! = 0.0336897

P(x = 2) = (5^2 * e^-5) / 2! = 0.0842243

P(x = 3) = (5^3 * e^-5) / 3! = 0.1403738

0.0067379 + 0.0336897 + 0.0842243 + 0.1403738

= 0.2650257

Prepare the Sales Budget assuming: 1. Expected sales volume: 8,000 units for the first quarter, an increase of 20% is expected f
solong [7]

Answer:

Sales budget $     for the 4 quarters is  $ 600,000    $ 720,000            $594000 and $ 825,000

Production Budget in units for the four quarters i s 7997.6 9000 8900 and 10,350 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Sales Budget

Quarters               I                    II                    III                    IV

Sales Volume    8000           9600                7200            10,000

Sales Price       $75.00        $75.00           $ 82.50            $82.50

Sales $              600,000     720,000            594000         825,000

We calculate the sales volume by applying the given percent to the sales units for each quarter. Then multiply it with the sales price to get the sales budget.

Production Budget

Quarters               I                    II                    III                    IV

Sales Volume    8000           9600                7200            10,000

+ Desired

Ending Inv.      2400            1800                3500               3850

Less Opening   -----              2400               1800               3500

Production      7997.6            9000             8900                10,350

We find the production budget units by adding the desired ending inventory and subtracting the opening inventory from the sales units calculated above. The ending inventory of one quarter is the opening inventory of the next quarter.As we do not know the ending inventory of the previous year we cannot find the opening inventory of the 1st quarter of the year .
