(a) 14.90 rounded is 15, and 1.25 rounded is 1, so 15-1 is $14.
(b) My estimation will be high because I had to round up on the larger number and round down on the smaller number leaving a larger gap between the answer and the estimation.
(c) 14.90-1.25=13.65, so Pedro has $13.65 left in his wallet. But the difference between the estimation and the answer is 14-13.65=0.35 so its a $0.35 difference between the estimation and the answer for how much would be left in Pedro's wallet.

Devon wants to write an equation for a line that passes through 2 of the data points he has collected. The points are (8, 5) and
ser-zykov [4K]
For this case we have the following equation:
 7x - 10y = 3

 From here, we must substitute ordered pairs of the form:
 (x, y)
 If the ordered pair satisfies the equation, then it belongs to the line.
 We have then:

 For (8, 5):

We substitute the following values:
 x = 8

y = 5

7 (8) - 10 (5) = 3

56 - 50 = 3

6 = 3
 We observe that the equation is not satisfied and therefore, this point does not belong to the line.
 Since one of the points does not belong to the line, then the equation is not a good model.

 Answer:

It is not a good model. One of the points does not belong to the line.

The score of golfers for a particular course follows a normal distribution that has a mean of 73 and a standard deviation of 3.
Artemon [7]

Answer:

P(X \geq 74) = 0.3707

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that the score of golfers for a particular course follows a normal distribution that has a mean of 73 and a standard deviation of 3.

Let X = Score of golfers

So, X ~ N(\mu=73,\sigma^{2}=3^{2})

The z score probability distribution is given by;

           Z = \frac{X-\mu}{\sigma} ~ N(0,1)

where, \mu = population mean = 73

           \sigma = standard deviation = 3

So, the probability that the score of golfer is at least 74 is given by = P(X \geq 74)

 P(X \geq 74) = P( \frac{X-\mu}{\sigma} \geq \frac{74-73}{3} ) = P(Z \geq 0.33) = 1 - P(Z < 0.33)

                                               =  1 - 0.62930 = 0.3707

Therefore, the probability that the score of golfer is at least 74 is 0.3707 .
