<u>Answer:</u> The cell potential is 0.712 V

<u>Explanation:</u>

The substance having highest positive E^o potential will always get reduced and will undergo reduction reaction. Here, silver will undergo reduction reaction will get reduced. Hydrogen will undergo oxidation reaction and will get oxidized

Half reactions for the given cell follows:

<u>Oxidation half reaction:</u> H_2(1.00atm)\rightarrow 2H^{+}(0.355M)+2e^-;E^o_{H^{+}/H_2}=0.00V

<u>Reduction half reaction:</u> Ag^{+}(0.0115M)+e^-\rightarrow Ag(s);E^o_{Ag^{+}/Ag}=0.80V   ( × 2 )

<u>Net reaction:</u> H_2(1.00atm)+2Ag^{+}(0.0115M)\rightarrow 2H^{+}(0.355M)+2Ag(s)

Oxidation reaction occurs at anode and reduction reaction occurs at cathode.

To calculate the E^o_{cell} of the reaction, we use the equation:

E^o_{cell}=E^o_{cathode}-E^o_{anode}

Putting values in above equation, we get:

E^o_{cell}=0.80-(0.00)=0.80V

To calculate the EMF of the cell, we use the Nernst equation, which is:

E_{cell}=E^o_{cell}-\frac{0.059}{n}\log \frac{[H^{+}]^2}{[Ag^{+}]^2}

where,

E_{cell} = electrode potential of the cell = ?V

E^o_{cell} = standard electrode potential of the cell = +0.80 V

n = number of electrons exchanged = 2

[Ag^{+}]=0.0115M

[H^{+}]=0.355M

Putting values in above equation, we get:

E_{cell}=0.80-\frac{0.059}{2}\times \log(\frac{(0.355)^2}{(0.0115)^2})\\\\E_{cell}=0.712V

Hence, the cell potential is 0.712 V

Answer:

a_c=9.66\frac{m}{s^2}

Explanation:

The centripetal acceleration is given by:

a_c=\frac{v^2}{r}(1)

Here v is the linear speed and r is the radius of the circular motion. v is defined as the distance traveled to make one revolution (2\pi r) divided into the time takes to make one revolution, that is, the period (T).

v=\frac{2\pi r}{T}(2)

Replacing (2) in (1) and replacing the given values:

a_c=\frac{(\frac{2\pi r}{T})^2}{r}\\a_c=\frac{4\pi^2 r}{T^2}\\a_c=\frac{4\pi^2 (1.85m)}{(2.75s)^2}\\a_c=9.66\frac{m}{s^2}

A wire from the power supply is carrying 120w of power and 24a of current. which color(s) of cable is the wire
Anna [14]
There is no picture given so I can't be really sure what color of the cable you're referring to. However, the only relationship I can think of when the power and the current is given would be: P=IV or P = I²R, where P is power, I is current, V is voltage and R is resistance. Solving both equations:

120 W = (24 A)(Voltage)
Voltage = 5 V

120 W = (24 A)²(R)
R = 0.2083 Ω

So, i think the cable would have specification of 5 Volts and 0.2083 ohms.

If they are metallic spheres  they are connected to earth and a charged body approaches

non- metallic (insulating) spheres in this case are charged by rubbing

Explanation:

For fillers, there are two fundamental methods, depending on the type of material.

If they are metallic spheres, they are connected to earth and a charged body approaches, this induces a charge of opposite sign and of equal magnitude, then it removes the contact to earth and the sphere is charged.

If the non- metallic (insulating) spheres in this case are charged by rubbing with some material or touching with another charged material, in this case the sphere takes half the charge and when separated each sphere has half the charge and with equal sign.

A proton is confined in an infinite square well of width 10 fm. (The nuclear potential that binds protons and neutrons in the nu
kvasek [131]

Answer:

First Question

    E   =   1.065*10^{-12} \  J

Second  Question

   The  wavelength is for an X-ray

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

     The  width of the wall is  w =  10\ fm =  10*10^{-15 }\ m

     The  first excited state is  n_1 = 2

     The  ground state is   n_0 = 1

Gnerally the  energy (in MeV) of the photon emitted when the proton undergoes a transition is mathematically represented as

          E   =   \frac{h^2 }{ 8 * m  *  l^2 [ n_1^2 - n_0 ^2 ] }

Here  h is the Planck's constant with value  h =  6.62607015 * 10^{-34} J \cdot s

         m is the mass of proton with value m  = 1.67 * 10^{-27} \   kg

So

          E  =   \frac{( 6.626*10^{-34})^2 }{ 8 * (1.67 *10^{-27})  *  (10 *10^{-15})^2 [ 2^2 - 1 ^2 ] }

=>        E   =   1.065*10^{-12} \  J

Generally the energy of the photon emitted is also mathematically represented as

             E  =  \frac{h * c }{ \lambda }

=>          \lambda  =  \frac{h * c }{E }

=>          \lambda  =  \frac{6.62607015 * 10^{-34} * 3.0 *10^{8} }{ 1.065 *10^{-15 } }

=>         \lambda  =  1.87*10^{-10} \  m

Generally the range of wavelength of X-ray is  10^{-8} \to  1)^{-12}

So this wavelength is for an X-ray.
