Answer:

205.3 mL of ethyl alcohol

Explanation:

The resulting container and liquid mixture has a mass of 512 g

Mass of container + Mass of water + Mass of ethyl alcohol

150 g + 200 g + Mass of ethyl alcohol = 512 g

We know that water has a mass of 200g, cause the density, which values 1 g/mL.

200 mL are contained in 200 g of water.

Mass of ethyl alcohol = 512 g - 200 g - 150 g ⇒ 162 g

Density of ethyl alcohol = ethyl alcohol mass / ethyl alcohol volume

0.789 g/mL = 162g / ethyl alcohol volume

162 g / 0.789 g/mL = 205.3 mL

SEP Use Models Why does the number of electrons in each principal energy shell increase as the number of the shell increases?
zlopas [31]

Answer:

See explanation

Explanation:

The number of electrons in each principal energy shell increases as the number of shells increases because more electronic orbitals become available to accommodate the electrons.

For instance, the n= 2 level only accommodates eight electrons in the s and p orbitals whereas the n=3 level accommodates 18 electrons in s, p and d orbitals respectively.

Each principal level accommodates 2n^2 electrons where n= the principal energy shell.

A gas occupies a volume at 34.2 mL at a temperature of 15.0 C and a pressure of 800.0 torr. What will be the volume of this gas
Grace [21]
The answer is 34.1 mL.
Solution:
Assuming ideal behavior of gases, we can use the universal gas law equation
     P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2
The terms with subscripts of one represent the given initial values while for terms with subscripts of two represent the standard states which is the final condition.
At STP, P2 is 760.0torr and T2 is 0°C or 273.15K. Substituting the values to the ideal gas expression, we can now calculate for the volume V2 of the gas at STP:
     (800.0torr * 34.2mL) / 288.15K = (760.0torr * V2) / 273.15K
     V2 = (800.0torr * 34.2mL * 273.15K) / (288.15K * 760.0torr)
     V2 = 34.1 mL

Consider the following properties: I) The red color of rubies is due to the presence of chromium ions. II) Objects made of silve
Alenkinab [10]

Answer:

Only II) is correct

Explanation:

I) The red color of the rubies is a physical property of its own structure (wich contains chromium ions)

II)Objects made of silver become tarnished not by a physical property, but as the result of a chemical reaction on the surface of the object made of silver in combination with the sulfur in the air

2Ag_{(s)}+S\rightarrow Ag_{2}S

This changes the color of the object to black, (similar to the iron oxidation)

iii)Boiling is a physical change where a liquid substance absorbs heat in some way (e.g. a flame) and becomes a gas

When dissolved beryllium chloride reacts with dissolved silver nitrate in water, aqueous beryllium nitrate and silver
lisabon 2012 [21]

Answer:

The balanced chemical equation is :

BeCl_{2} + 2AgNO_{3}\rightarrow Be(NO_{3})_{2} + 2AgCl

Explanation:

The chemical equation in which number of atoms in reactants is equal to products is called balanced equation.

Formula of , Beryllium Chloride :[BeCl_{2}

Beryllium Nitrate : BeNO_{3}

Silver Chloride : AgCl

Silver Nitrate  :AgNO_{3}

When beryllium chloride reacts with dissolved silver nitrate in water , following reaction occur :

BeCl_{2} + 2AgNO_{3}\rightarrow Be(NO_{3})_{2} + 2AgCl

The number of atoms in reactant as well as in products are balanced :

Be = 1

Ag = 2

N =2

O = 6

Cl = 2
