Cold feedwater enters a 200-kPa open feedwater heater of a regenerative Rankine cycle at 70°C with a flow rate of 10 kg/s. Bleed

steam is available from the turbine at 200 kPa and 160°C. At what rate must bleed steam be supplied to the open feedwater heater so the feedwater leaves this unit as a saturated liquid?

The rate of bleed steam Ms is 0.93 kg / s.

Explanation:

This can be solved by using an energy balanced equation. There are three contributions to the equations naming the cold feedwater, bleed steam, and the exciting water contribution.

cold water flows at a rate Mc = 10 kg / s

pressure p = 200 kPa

temperature Tc = 70 degree celsius

now determining the enthalpy of the cold feed water

                        Hc = 293 kJ / kg

Bleed steam is supplied at the rate Ms, pressure p and the temperature Ts = 160-degree celsius.

Now determining the enthalpy of the steam

                       Hs = 2790 kJ / kg

Atlast the existing water leaves at the combined rate Mc + Ms in saturated liquid at a pressure p

enthalpy of exiting water table He = 504.71 kJ / kg

Energy balance equation for calculating mass flow rate of steam Ms is given by,

                                    Ee = Ec + Es

                      (Mc + Ms) * He = (Mc * Hc) + (Ms * Hs)

                    (10 + Ms) 504.71 = (10 * 293) + (Ms * 2790)

                                          Ms = 0.93 kg / s.

Assuming the same current is running through two separate coils, why is it easier to thrust a magnet into a wire coil with one l
s2008m [1.1K]
The magnetic field strength in a coil is directly proportional to the number of turns, or loops, in the coil.
Therefore, when there are four loops instead of one, the magnetic field strength has increased four times, making it harder to push the magnet in.

A major benefit of the daguerreotype process is that ________.
tigry1 [53]

Daguerreotype is defined as the first practical photographic process which was introduced in Paris on January 7, 1839. To make the image permanent, Daguerre used salt solution. The result of his introduced process is a finely defined image with surface which is delicate. The major benefit of daguerreotype is if the images are correctly preserved, the pictures could last forever. Aside from this, since it produces superior quality of outline, it is thus suitable for portraitures.

BARSIC [14]
This type of listening response is called back-channel signal. This allows the speaker to know that the listener is attentive or willing to engage a conversation between them. It is shown through short utterances, facial expressions, head nods and others.

Rasek [7]

Answer:

99.95%

Explanation:

A double pulsar system named PSR J0737-3039A/B in Puppis constellation was discovered in the year 2003. Pulsars are second most densest object in the universe after black holes and they emit radio waves at regular intervals. This pair presented a great and natural setup to test the Theory of General Relativity presented by Einstein in 1915. In this theory Einstein had presented a set of equations on how the space-time fabric will be curved because of the very dense objects such as Neutron stars. It also predicted how the gravitational waves are created because of stars orbiting each other.

A team of astrophysicists led by Michael Kramer, conducted a study on how these gravitational waves will impact the time in which the radio waves emitted by pulsars will reach Earth. The result of the study proved the theory of General Relativity to be accurate up to 99.95%.
