Answer:

A chicken costs $8 and a Duck costs $5.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost of each chickens be 'x'.

Also Let the cost of each ducks be 'y'.

Now given:

Data of Last month:

Number of chickens sold = 50

Number of ducks sold = 30

Total money made = $550

Now we can say that;

Total money made is equal to sum of Number of chickens sold multiplied by cost of each chickens and Number of ducks sold multiplied by cost of each ducks

framing in equation form we get;

50x+30y =550

Now dividing both side by 10 we get;

\frac{50x}{10}+\frac{30y}{10}=\frac{550}{10}\\\\5x+3y=55 \ \ \ \ equation \ 1

Now This month Data:

Number of chickens sold = 44

Number of ducks sold = 36

Total money made = $532

Now we can say that;

Total money made is equal to sum of Number of chickens sold multiplied by cost of each chickens and Number of ducks sold multiplied by cost of each ducks

framing in equation form we get;

44x+36y =532

Now dividing both side by 4 we get;

\frac{44x}{4}+\frac{36y}{4}=\frac{532}{4}\\\\11x+9y=133 \ \ \ \ equation \ 2

Now multiplying equation 1 by 3 we get;

3(5x+3y)=55\times3\\\\15x+9y=165 \ \ \ \ equation \ 3

Subtracting equation 2 from equation 3 we get;

15x+9y-(11x+9y)=165-133\\\\15x+9y-11x-9y= 32\\\\4x=32

Dividing both side by 4 we get;

\frac{4x}{4}=\frac{32}{4}\\\\x=\$8

Now Substituting the value of x in equation 1 we get;

5x+3y=55\\\\5\times8+3y =55\\\\40+3y=55\\\\3y =55-40\\\\3y =15\\\\y = \frac{15}{3} =\$5

Hence A chicken costs $8 and a Duck costs $5.

olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

The amount of stock for which both brokers would charge the same commission is $2500.

Step-by-step explanation:

i) Let the amount of stock to be traded be worth $x

ii) therefore for both the brokers to charge the same commission we can write

   1% of x  = $25 \RIghtarrow\Rightarrow  0.01 \times x  = 25  \therefore   x = \frac{25}{0.01}  = 2500

The amount of stock for which both brokers would charge the same commission is $2500.

Each time Kristine gets paid, she spends $20 and saves the rest. If the amount Kristine earns is represented by x and the amount
faust18 [17]

We are given that Kristine spends $20 and saves the rest each time she get paid.

We can use slope-intercept form y=mx+b to represent the equation.

Where x represents the amount Kristine earns and y represents the amount she saves.

Kristine spends $20. Therefore b= -20.

Plugging mx as just x and b=-20.

<h3>y = x-20.</h3><h3>If we plug y=0, we get </h3><h3>0 = x-20</h3><h3>x=20.</h3><h3>We can see in 4th option we have x-intercept =20.</h3><h3>Therefore, correct option is 4th option. </h3><h3 />

melamori03 [73]
Hi there!

We are looking for perpendicular angles, which means the angle between the streets is 90 degrees. So, each time we need to find the street that intersects the given street with a 90 degree angle.

On this map, Oxford Street is perpendicular to Waterloo St., and Rosewood Street is perpendicular to Oak St..

The answers are (in correct order): Waterloo St. and Oak St..

3.50x + 120 - 5x = 97.50
3.50x - 5x = 97.50 - 120

At a zoo, youth tickets cost $5 and adult tickets cost $9. A group that purchased x youth tickets and y adult tickets spent $90
notka56 [123]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of youth tickets purchased at the zoo.

Let y represent the number of adult tickets purchased at the zoo.

At the zoo, youth tickets cost $5 and adult tickets cost $9. A group spent a total of $90 on tickets. This means that

5x + 9y = 90

The domain of the relationship is the possible set of values of x and y that satisfies the equation. The domain of this relationship is

0 ≤ x ≤ 18

At x = 0, it means only adult tickets were purchased.

At x = 18, it means only youth tickets were purchased.
