While the introduction of the mutant synthetase gene restored some of the growth characteristics, this strain still does not gro

w as fast as wild-type E. coli. Which of the statements support this observation?
A) The mutant synthetase gene allows histidine tRNA to be charged with asparagine, but sometimes this tRNA could deliver asparagine in the place of histidine to other proteins where the histidine residue was important to the function of the protein and growth.B) The mutant synthetase gene allows histidine tRNA to be charged with asparagine, therefore histidine could not be present in any protein. If the the histidine residue was important to the function of various other proteins growth may not be completely restored.C) The codon for histidine has not changed in the mutant variant, therefore only the mutant variant of the protein is produced resulting in slow growth.D) The normal synthetase that charges histidine tRNA with histidine is still present resulting in the mutant variant of the protein. Not having enough of the normal protein may still limit growth.

Answer:

A and D

Explanation:

Transfer ribonucleic acid (tRNA) is a type of RNA that decodes mRNA (messenger RNA) into protein. This phenomenon is known as translation.

If the strain of mutant synthetase gene does not grow fast despite having growth characteristics, the following possibilities could happen:

  • Sometimes histidine tRNA sends asparagine instead of histidine to other proteins where histidine residue should have been present for growth.
  • The normal synthetase might be present but not in an adequate amount.

What advantages are there for larger organisms to subdivide themselves into cells
WINSTONCH [101]

Cell division occurs in all living organisms. This is known as mitosis.

The advantages of a larger organisms to subdivide themselves into smaller cells is that as all organisms grow, some of their cells die or get damaged with time and need replacements. So,it divides into smaller cells because when a cell becomes large, it demands more of cell places of its DNA. If the cell grows too large, it will have trouble moving enough nutrients and wastes across the cell membrane. So to grow properly the cells need to be divided.

A complete circuit contains two parallel-connected devices and a generator for providing the electromotive force. The resistance
mrs_skeptik [129]
Parallel circuits are circuits when placed in a parallel position. Meaning that for each device, they have their own branch. The voltage that is received in the circuit is equal to the individual devices. The total current is equal to the current of each device. The resistance is the reciprocal of the resistances of each device combined.

Given:
Device 1 = 12 ohms
Device 2 = 4 ohms
Voltage total = 40V

Required:
Current at 12 ohms

Solution:
40V = V1 =V2

Since V =IR
I1 = V1/R1
I1 = (40V)/(12 ohms)

Give one example of how the testing of Platismatia glauca could benefit future ecological research of this forest
Stels [109]

Answer:

Platismatia is a genus of lichens that often is found in forests. Lichens may be beneficial for forests because they provide food and nutrients for other species by fixing atmospheric nitrogen

Explanation:

The lichens are the result of mutualism between photosynthetic organisms (algae or cyanobacteria) and fungi species.
