Answer:

(1). 9.6 ppm.

(2). 9600 ppb.

Explanation:

PPM and PPB are the acronyms that stands for Parts per million and Parts per Billion respectively. The parts per million and Parts per Billion are both used in the description of how many parts concentration of particular substance are being dissolved in a a solvent. The Parts per Million can be represented mathematically by using the formula below;

ppm = milligram of solute/ litre of a solution.

Hence the units for parts per million = mg / L.

So, the parts per million for this reaction, ppm = 0.48 x (1000 / 50.0) x 10⁶ ppm. = 9.6 ppm.

The parts per Billion can be calculated just as the parts per million has been Calculated above. But, instead of mg/L we will have a microgram per litre. So, we will have;

0.48 mg Hg x (1000 /50.0 ) x 10⁹ ppb.

ppb = 9600 ppb

Obtain a box of breakfast cereal and read the list of ingredients. What are four chemicals from the list
FromTheMoon [43]

Options:

monoglycerides

cocamide DEA

folic acid

iron chromium ion

peroxide

lauryl glucoside

disodium phosphate

Answer and Explanation:

The added chemicals are:

  • monoglycerides
  • folic acid
  • iron
  • disodium phophates

Monoglycerides are fats added for flavour. Folic cid and iron are vitamins added for nutritional value. disodium phosphate is a food additive for enhancing flavour.

The remaining ingredients are organic based.

Elena makes the table below to determine the number of atoms of each element in the chemical formula 3(NH4)2SO4
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

She should not have multiplied the nitrogen atom by subscript 2.

Explanation:

Chemical formula:

3(NH₄)₂SO₄

Elements present in given formula:

Nitrogen

Hydrogen

Sulfur

Oxygen

Total number of atoms of elements:

N = 3×1×2 = 6

H = 4×2×3 = 24

S = 1×3 = 3

O = 3×4 = 12

The number nitrogen atoms are six. Elena did mistake by counting the number of nitrogen. She should didn't multiplied the nitrogen atom by subscript 2.

Which of the following describes the electron sharing between hydrogen and fluorine?
EastWind [94]
Hello
We know both the elements involved in bonding are non-metals and the primary type of bonds involved in non-metals are covalent bonds. Covalent bonds are formed when two atoms share one or more electrons; thus we know that whatever the number of electrons shared, it has to be equal for both. We can eliminate choices A and B.
Next, we understand that it is easier for one atom to be shared among the two, rather than the 7. First, because Hydrogen needs only 1 electron to be stable and would require energy to compensate the remaining 6. Second, electrons are attracted towards the nucleus so it is inefficient to try and share 7 electrons when 1 provides the same amount of stability to Fluorine.
Therefore, the answer is C.
