Answer:

Therefore, the average rate of change is 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

The  average rate of change  of for f(x) = 2x - 12 over the interval 4 \leq x \leq 8 will be the slope of the  secant line  connecting the 2 points.

To calculate the average rate of change  of f(x) on the interval [a, b] is:

\frac{f\left(b\right)-f\left(a\right)}{b-a}

as

f\left(4\right)\:=\:2\left(4\right)\:-\:12

        =-4

f\left(8\right)\:=\:2\left(8\right)\:-\:12

        =16-12

        =4

The average rate of change between (4, -4) and (8, 4) will be:

 \frac{f\left(b\right)-f\left(a\right)}{b-a}

=\frac{4-\left(-4\right)}{8-4}

=\frac{4+4}{8-4}

=\frac{8}{4}

=2

Therefore, the average rate of change is 2.

Which store has the lowest delivery charge?
Kay [80]

Answer:

Igloo Ice has the lowest delivery charge.

Step-by-step explanation:

Igloo Ice when you plug in 120 for the y you get 25.714 as the x.

Freds freeze at 120 is 20.

And lastly Tasty treats at 120 is 24, so Igloo Ice has the lowest delivery charge per person (you pay $120 for 25.714 people.)

Someone just robbed a bank. The police set a triangular perimeter of 16 kilometers where the robber may be hiding. Two of the th
Nata [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter = 16 km

s = 8 km

Area = \sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

Area = 12 sq km

Let the third coordinate be (x,y).

Then, a = \sqrt{(2-2)^{2}+(2-(-1))^{2}  }

=3

b =  \sqrt{(x-2)^{2}+(y-2)^{2}  }

c =  \sqrt{(x-2)^{2}+(y-(-1))^{2}  }

Solving, a+b+c = 16

and using area equation we get

x = -6

y = 2

Solve the following subtraction problems. Remember to borrow as necessary.
chubhunter [2.5K]

Answer:

<em>a.</em><em> 2 lb 11 oz, </em><em>b.</em><em> 7 T 1,992 lb 12 oz , </em><em>c.</em><em> 38 lb 14 oz</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

The first thing we need to understand is the conversions.

<em>1 T = 2,000 lb</em>

<em>1 lb = 16 oz</em>

Knowing this, there are many ways to find out the answer, please see below the one I used; I <em>converted all measure units to oz</em>, <em>subtracted the amounts</em>, and finally <em>converted the units back to their original ones</em>.

a. 5 lb or (16 oz*5) - (2 lb or (16 oz*2) + 5 oz) = 80 oz - 37 oz = 43 oz = <em>2 lb 11 oz</em>

b. (17 T or (2,000 lb*17) + 13 lb + 3 oz) - (9 T or (2,000 lb*9) + 20 lb + 9 oz) = (34,013 lb or (16 oz *34,013) + 3 oz) - (18,020 lb or (16 oz *18,020) + 9 oz) = 544,213  oz - 288,329  oz = 255,884  oz = <em>7 T 1992 lb 12 oz</em>

c. (68 lb or (16 oz*68) + 13 oz) - (30 lb or (16 oz*30)+15) = 1,117 oz - 495 oz = 622 oz = <em>38 lb 14 oz</em>

A data set with whole numbers has a low value of 20 and a high value of 96.
Naya [18.7K]

Answer and Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of the class width for a frequency is shown below:

Class width is

= \frac{Range}{Number\ of\ class} \\\\ = \frac{96 - 20}{7}

= 10.86

= 11

Now the class limits for a frequency table

Particulars      Lower class limit to upper class limit

First class          20 - 30

Second class    31 - 41

Third class        42 - 52

Fourth class      53 - 63

Fifth class         64  74

Six class           75 - 85

Seventh class   86 - 96
