Since anjul is looking at samples on the counter, it's reasonable to assume that the environment is room temperature. The only metal liquid at room temperature is mercury

Mercury is a metal that's liquid at "room" temperature.
I think it's the only one.

Joel uses a claw hammer to remove a nail from a wall. He applies a force of 40 newtons on the hammer. The hammer applies a force
jarptica [38.1K]

Hi!

Mechanical advantage is defined as the<em> ratio of force produced by an object to the force that is applied to it.</em>

In our case, this would be the ratio of the force applied by the claw hammer on the nail to the force Joel applies to the claw hammer, which is

160:40 or 4:1

So the mechanical advantage of the hammer is four.

Hope this helps!

The howler monkey is the loudest land animal and, under some circumstances, can be heard up to a distance of 8.9 km. Assume the
exis [7]

Answer:

113.7

Explanation:

maximum distance (s) = 8.9 km

reference intensity (I0) = 1 x 10^{-12} W/m^{2}

power of a juvenile howler monkey (p) = 63 x 10^{-6} W

distance (r) = 210 m

intensity (I) = power/area

where we assume the area of a sphere due to the uniformity of the output in all directions

area = 4πr^{2} =  4π x 210^{2} = 554,176.9 m^{2}

intensity (I) = \frac{63 x 10^{-6} }{554,176.9} = 113.7 x 10^{-12}

therefore the desired ratio I/I0 = \frac{113.7 x 10^{-12}}{1 x 10^{-12}} = 113.7

A ball is thrown with a velocity of 35 meters per second at an angle of 30° above the horizontal. which quantity has a magnitude
enot [183]
The quantity that has a magnitude of zero when the ball is at the highest point in its trajectory is the vertical velocity.

In fact, the motion of the ball consists of two separate motions:
- the horizontal motion, on the x-axis, which is a uniform motion with constant velocity v_x=v_0 cos 30^{\circ}, where v_0=35 m/s
- the vertical motion, on the y-axis, which is a uniformly accelerated motion with constant acceleration g=9.81 m/s^2 directed downwards, and with initial velocity v_y=v_= sin 30^{\circ}. Due to the presence of the acceleration g on the vertical direction (pointing in the opposite direction of the initial vertical velocity), the vertical velocity of the ball decreases as it goes higher, up to a point where it becomes zero and it reverses its direction: when the vertical velocity becomes zero, the ball has reached its maximum height.

What is the volume of an irregularly shaped object that has a mass 3.0 grams and a density of 6.0 g/mL
pogonyaev

Answer: The volume of an irregularly shaped object is 0.50 ml

Explanation:

To calculate the volume, we use the equation:

\text{Density of substance}=\frac{\text{Mass of substance}}{\text{Volume of substance}}

Density of object = 6.0g/ml

mass of object = 3.0 g

Volume of object = ?

Putting in the values we get:

6.0g/ml=\frac{3.0g}{\text{Volume of substance}}

{\text{Volume of substance}}=0.50ml

Thus the volume of an irregularly shaped object is 0.50 ml
