The loudness, L, measured in decibels (Db), of a sound intensity, I, measured in watts per square meter, is defined as L = 10 lo

g StartFraction I Over I 0 EndFraction, where I 0 = 10 Superscript negative 12 and is the least intense sound a human ear can hear. Brandon is trying to take a nap, and he can barely hear his neighbor mowing the lawn. The sound intensity level that Brandon can hear is 10-10. Ahmad, Brandon’s neighbor that lives across the street, is mowing the lawn, and the sound intensity level of the mower is 10-4. How does Brandon’s sound intensity level compare to Ahmad’s mower?

Let us assume the number of text books sold by <span>keller publishing = x
Then
Then </span>number of text books sold by <span>Scholastic books = 4x
The total number of text books sold = 7775
Then
x + 4x = 7775
5x = 7775
x = 1555
Then
The nu</span>mber of text books sold by Scholastic books = 4x
                                                                                  = 4 * 1555

If you apply the changes below to the quadratic parent function, f(x) = x2, what is the equation of the new function? Shift 3 un
Alex17521 [72]
To apply the changes to the equation of a vertical stretch of 4 and a translation of 3 units to the right, as well as the correct answer would be choice B.

The reason for this is when you apply a vertical stretch, because it changes the y-values (which causes it to vertically stretch or appear skinnier when graphed), you would multiply 4 to f(x) which would look like 4x^2.

Then, since you have a reflection over the x-axis, you must multiply a -1 to f(x) to reflect it over the x-axis which would result in -4x^2.

Finally, it also asks to shift the graph right 3 which by moving it right, you change the x values meaning you will perform f(x-3) to achieve this (subtract the value from x when you move right, and add the value to x when you move left).

This therefore results in your answer, the new graph would be
g(x)= -4(x-3)^2 or choice B.

Last year Beth's annual salary was $38,350. This year she received a promotion and now earns $46,462 annually. She is paid biwee
kenny6666 [7]

Answer:

Quite simple. There are 52 weeks in a year. She gets paid 26 times, every other week.

38,350 / 26 = her salary from last year per check.

46,462 / 26 = her new salary per check

(46,462 - 38,350) / 26 = the difference per week

The planetarium, which is not marked on the map, is halfway between the historic village and the science center. What are its co
lutik1710 [3]
As I have seen this question before:

Coordinates of historic village: (-4 1/2 , 5 1/2)
Coordinates of science center: (-4 1/2 , -1 3/4)

To find the midpoint, we use:
((x₂ + x₁)/2) , (y₂ + y₁)/2)
= ( (-4 1/2 + -4 1/2)/2 , (-1 3/4 + 5 1/2) / 2)
= ( -4 1/2 , 1 7/8)
