Answer:

a) 7.54189*10^-8

b) 0.99999999

c) E ( X ) = 0.39 , s ( X ) = 0.604

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution:-

- We will assume the proportion of people with A- blood group is independent and remains constant for a fairly small sample of n = 6 Americans selected at random.

- We will denote a random variable X = The number of americans out of 6 that have blood group type A-.

- The random variable is assumed to follow binomial distribution.

- The probability of success is the proportion of people in U.S that have blood group type A-, p = 0.065:

                        X ~ Bin ( 6 , 0.065 )

Where, r represents the number of americans out of selected 6 have blood group A-. The pmf of a binomial variate is given as:

                       P ( X = r ) = nCr * ( p ) ^r * ( 1 - p ) ^ ( n - r )

a) Find the probability that all 6 are type A-

- We will pmf given above and set r = 6. And evaluate the resulting probability:

                     P ( X = 6 ) = 6C6 * ( p )^6 * ( 1  - p ) ^ ( 0 )

                                      = p^6

                                      = ( 0.065 )^6

                                      = 7.54189*10^-8

b) Find the probability that at most 4 of them are type A-

- We will pmf given above and evaluate the following expression:

                     P ( X ≤ 4 ) = 1 - P ( X = 5 ) - P ( X = 6 )

                     P ( X ≤ 4 ) = 1 - 6C5 * ( p )^5 * ( 1  - p ) ^ ( 1 ) - p^6

                                      = 1 - 6*(0.065)^5 ( 0.935 ) - 0.065^6

                                      = 1 - 6.50923*10^-8 - 7.54189*10^-8

                                      = 0.99999999

c) Find the mean and standard deviation.

- The mean E ( X ) of the defined random variable distributed binomially is given by:

                     E ( X ) = n*p = 6*0.065 = 0.39 people

- The mean s( X ) of the defined random variable distributed binomially is given by:

                    s ( X ) = √n*p*q = √(6*0.065*0.935) = 0.604

gtnhenbr [62]

Answer: The meaning of each term of the  Madison’s and Tyler’s expressions is mentioned below.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, when Madison starts with a population of 1,000 amoebas that triples in size every hour for a number of hours, h.

That is, after 1 hour total number of amoebas = 3×1000 = 3^1\times 1000

After 2 hour,  total number of amoebas = 3×3000=3^2\times 100

After 3 hour, total number of amoebas = 3×9000= 3^3\times 1000

similarly, after h hours, total number of amoebas,

f(h) = 3^h\times 1000

where, 1000 is the initial population of amoeba 3 is the growth factor of population and f(h) is the population of amoeba after h hours.

Since, when Tyler starts with a population of 1 amoeba that  increases 30% in size every hour for a number of hours.

That is, after 1 hour total number of amoebas = (1+0.3)^1

After 2 hour,  total number of amoebas =  (1+0.3)^2

After 3 hour, total number of amoebas =  (1+0.3)^3

Similarly, after h hours, total number of amoebas,

f(h) =(1+0.3)^h

Where,  1 is the initial population of amoeba, 0.3 is the growth rate and 1.3 is the growth factor.

Austin takes 1 minute and 45 seconds to run three-quarters of a circular track. His rate of motion is π/ radians per second.
valentina_108 [34]
Length of circular track is:

L = 2*r*pi

He run 3/4 of it so length is:
L' = 3*2/4*r*pi = 3/2*r*pi

To calculate speed of his movement we use formula:
v = s/t where s = L' and t = 1 minute 45 seconds = 105 seconds

v = L'/t = \frac{3*r*pi}{2*105}

v = r* pi/70

If we take that r = 1 answer is \pi /70
