3) In the 1990’s Florida Fish and Game wanted to control a population of lamprey that had been introduced into Lake Okeechobee b

y placing a nerve inhibitor into the lake that would ultimately kill lamprey. Because ray-finned fish don’t have this receptor they would not be effected. This proposal was meet with resistance by local environmental groups because the effects had not been studied on lancelets. Being a concerned citizen, take a position and support or reject the proposal and support your position.

Answer:

There needs to be further studies

Explanation:

To Whom it may concern:

I have been advised that the Florida Fish and Game board is intending to control the lamprey population by using a nerve inhibitor. While I applaud your efforts, I am deeply concerned that this will have unknown effects on the other fish such as the lancets that live in the water. I am doubly concerned that it may have an effect on water quality, the plants that are dependent on the water and the people in the surrounding areas that depend on this water source for survival.

Please furnish any data you have on the previous concerns that I have delineated above and allow the citizens to have a meeting to discuss the changes that you intend to make.

Signed

Conserned citizens of Florida

I think that occurrence is an example of  : The lithosphere influences the atmosphere and biosphere

Rains happen when the water within the atmosphere brought out by the win and will eventually fall to the place where it came into

The thing is, These mountains often blocked the water-filled with air, causing it not able to reach the place behind the mountain, which will eventually became a desert
