Answer:

The blue Prius, because the Mustang arrived almost in the same time. And when you arrive in an intersection at the same time of other vehicle you need yield for the car on your right if the car is on your left you have the right of way.

exis [7]

Answer:

new boiler total cost = $229706.825

new boiler total cost = $127512

Explanation:

given data

power p1 = 80 kW

cost C = $160000

cost index CI 1 = 187

cost index CI 2= 194

cost capacity factor f = 0.6

power p2 = 120 kW

current cost = $18000

to find out

total cost and cost of 40 kW

solution

we consider here CN cost for new boiler and CO cost for old boiler

and x is capacity of new boiler

first we find old boiler current cost that is

current cost CO = C × \frac{CI 1 }{CI 2 }   .............1

put here value

current cost = 160000 × \frac{194 }{187 }

new current cost = $165989.304

and

use here power sizing technique for 124 kW

CN/CO = (\frac{p2}{p1} )^{f}    ...............2

put here value and find CN

CN/CO = (\frac{p2}{p1} )^{f}

CN / 165989.304 = (\frac{120}{80} )^{0.6}

CN = 211706.825

so new cost = $211706.825

so

total cost for new boiler is

total cost = new cost + current cost

total cost = 211706.825 + 18000

new boiler total cost = $229706.825

and

for 40 kW new cost will be

use equation 2

CN/CO = (\frac{p2}{p1} )^{f}

CN / 165989.304 = (\frac{40}{80} )^{0.6}

CN = 109512

so new cost is $109512

so

total cost for new boiler is

total cost = new cost + current cost

total cost = 109512 + 18000

new boiler total cost = $127512

A platinum resistance temperature sensor has a resistance of 120 Ω at 0℃ and forms one arm of a Wheatstone bridge. At this tempe
oksian1 [2.3K]

Answer : 9.36ohms/ temperature

Explanation:

Expression for the variation of resistance of platinum with temperature

Rt= Ro(1+*t)

Rt= resistance @ t°C

Ro= resistance @ 0°C

*= temperature coefficient of resistance

Calculate the change in resistance by putting 120ohms for Ro,

0.0039/K for *

20°C for t

Using this formula:

Rt = Ro(1+*t)

Rt- Ro = Ro*t

= (120ohms)(0.0039/K)(20°C)

= 9.36ohms/K

The legend that Benjamin Franklin flew a kite as a storm approached is only a legend—he was neither stupid nor suicidal. Suppose
Delicious77 [7]

Answer: 0.93 mA

Explanation:

In order to calculate the current passing through the water layer, as we have the potential difference between the ends of the string as a given, assuming that we can apply Ohm’s law, we need to calculate the resistance of the water layer.

We can express the resistance as follows:

R = ρ.L/A

In order to calculate the area A, we can assume that the string is a cylinder with a circular cross-section, so the Area of the water layer can be written as follows:

A= π(r22 – r12) = π( (0.0025)2-(0.002)2 ) m2 = 7.07 . 10-6 m2

Replacing by the values, we get R as follows:

R = 1.4 1010 Ω

Applying Ohm’s Law, and solving for the current I:

I = V/R = 130 106 V / 1.4 1010 Ω = 0.93 mA

An electric field is expressed in rectangular coordinates by E = 6x2ax + 6y ay +4az V/m.Find:a) VMN if point M and N are specifi
Fittoniya [83]

Answer:

a.) -147V

b.) -120V

c.) 51V

Explanation:

a.) Equation for potential difference is the integral of the electrical field from a to b for the voltage V_ba = V(b)-V(a).

b.) The problem becomes easier to solve if you draw out the circuit. Since potential at Q is 0, then Q is at ground. So voltage across V_MQ is the same as potential at V_M.

c.) Same process as part b. Draw out the circuit and you'll see that the potential a point V_N is the same as the voltage across V_NP added with the 2V from the other box.

Honestly, these things take practice to get used to. It's really hard to explain this.

Identify an object in your house that contains a physical system and list three questions you could use to define the system
jonny [76]

Answer:

ALL CAREFULLY ANSWERED CORRECTLY

Explanation:

1) A loaf of Bread PHYSICAL SYSTEM

✓ How can the environment affect the edibility of the bread

✓ What are the constituents that makes up the bread

✓ What process is involved in these constituents mixing to form the loaf.

2) The law of thermodynamics makes us to understand that when heat/energy passes through a system, the systems internal energy changes with respect to the conservation of energy law. That is energy lost = energy gained. Typically, ice would melt in a cup of hot tea because of the thermal energy in the molecules of the hot tea. When you heat a material, you are adding thermal kinetic energy to its molecules and usually raising its temperature. The temperature of the ice raises due to the kinetic energy added to it and it melts to water.

3) The theory of systems view the world as a complex system of interconnected parts. If we consider the society; (financial systems, political systems, etc) we will agree that they individually have their own components and it's the summation of this components that makes the system, this implies that system thinking could be applicable in this kinda of systems as long as they are made up of components.

4) Technology has boosted every sector of our lives and it has the capacity to do more. Restricting it's importance to entertainment alone would be an underusing of its potentials. Engineering students infact should not need any drive to be encouraged about maximizing all it can do in shaping our world.

5) ~ Nature shows its splendid soul

~Never ceases to leave us in amazement

~And we are in love
