Chemistry

Answer: Option (d) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Bases are the substances whose solutions has pH value more than 7. Bases are bitter in taste.

Whereas acids are the substances whose solutions have pH value less than 7. Acids are sour in taste.

When excess of acid is formed in the human stomach then an antacid tablet which is basically a base is consumed that helps in reducing the indigestion.

Therefore, we can conclude that a common use of bases is to reduce indigestion.

Answer:

i· Partial pressure of nitrogen gas is 219.429kPa and partial pressure of argon gas is 33.714kPa ·

ii· Total pressure of the gas mixture is 253.143kPa·

Explanation:

solution for i :

Assuming that the given gases to be ideal,

so by ideal gas equation

PV=nRT

where,

P is the pressure of the gas

V is the volume occupied by the gas

n is the number of moles of the gas

R is the ideal gas constant

T is the temperature of the gas

Actually partial pressure of each gas is the pressure of the gas exerted when it occupies complete volume

As the temperature of both gases are same, the mixing process is an isothermal process

PV=constant

Initially for nitrogen gas PV=803×4=3212

let Px_{1} be the partial pressure of the nitrogen gas

(Px_{1})×14=3212

∴Px_{1}=219.429kPa

∴Partial pressure of nitrogen gas is 219.429kPa

Initially for argon gas PV=47.2×10=472

let Px_{2} be the partial pressure of the argon gas

(Px_{2})×14=472

∴Px_{2}=33.714kPa

∴Partial pressure of argon gas is 33.714kPa

solution for ii :

Total pressure of the gas mixture will be the sum of the partial pressures of each gas as

Partial pressure of the gas=(total pressure of the mixture)×(mole fraction of the gas)

∴Total pressure=Px_{1}+Px_{2}

                          =219.429+33.719

Total pressure    =253.143kPa

The reaction A + B → 2 C has the rate law rate = k[A][B]³. By what factor does the rate of reaction increase when [A] remains co
lawyer [7]

Answer:

8

Explanation:

To solve this question, we just need to put the new number into the equation. If [A] remain constant then that mean [A2]= [A1]. If B doubled, then that mean [B2]= 2[B2]. To find what factor does the rate of reaction increases, we need to divide the first reaction rate with the second. The calculation will be:

rate2/rate1= k[A2][B2]³     /     k[A1][B1]³

rate2/rate1= [A1][2B1]³      /     [A1][B1]³

rate2/rate1=  A1*8B1³       /     A1*B1³

rate2/rate1= 8/1= 8

The rate of reaction will be 8 times faster.

Tear gas has the composition 40.25% carbon, 6.19% hydrogen, 8.94% oxygen, 44.62% bromine. what is the empirical formula of this
andre [41]
Calculating the moles and the moles ratio of the elements gives us the ratio of atoms in each element. Converting the percentage of element into grams 40.25% carbon = 40.25/100 = .4025 * 100 g of carbon = 40.25g of C 6.19% hydrogen = 6.19/100 = .0619 * 100g g of hydrogen = 6.19g of H 8.94% oxygen = 8.94/100 = .0819 * 100 g of oxygen = 8.19g of O 44.62% bromine = 44.62/100 = .4462 * 100 g of bromine = 44.62g of Br Converting the grams of element into moles (48.38 g C) (1 mol/ 12.10 g C) = 4.028 mol C (8.12 g H) (1 mol/ 1.008 g H) = 8.056 mol H (53.38 g O) (1 mol/ 16.00 g O) = 3.336 mol O (44.62g of Br)(0.012515018021626 moles) = 0.55842 mol Br Calculating the moles ratio of elements by dividing the small number of moles of an element 4.028 mol C /0.55842 = 7.2 mol C x 5 = 36 mol C 8.056 mol H / 0.55842 = 14.42 mol H = 72 mol H 3.336 mol O / 0.55842 = 5.97 mol O = 30 mol O 0.55842 mol Br / 0.55842 = 1mol Br = 5 mol Br So the empirical formula is (C6H12O5)6Br5

If an ionic compound were composed of a4+ and b−, which unit cell structure would give a neutral compound?
Ymorist [56]
biological reactions that happen within cells while reducing the complex interactions found in a whole cell. Eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells have been used for creation of these simplified environments[1]. Subcellular fractions can be isolated by ultracentrifugation to provide molecular machinery that can be used in reactions in the absence of many of the other cellular components. Cell-free biosystems can be prepared by mixing a number of purified enzymes and coenzymes. Cell-free biosystems are proposed as a new low-cost biomanufacturing platform compared to microbial fermentation used for thousands of years. Cell-free biosystems have several advantages suitable in industrial applications
