Answer:

Since one mole Na₂S ionised to give 2moles Na⁺ ion, hence concentration of sodium ion in the solution is (2 × 0.1748)M = 0.3496 M

≈0.350 M

Explanation:

From the question it is clear that,

Initial volume of sodium sulphide solution is (v₁) = 50mL

Initial concentration of sodium sulphide solution is (s₁) =0.874 M

Final volume of sodium sulphide solution is (v₂) = 250mL

Let, the final concentration of sodium sulphide solution is s₂, then according to acidimetry-alkalimetry,

v₁ × s₁ = v₂ × s₂

Or, s₂ = v₁ × s₁/v₂

= 50 × 0.874 / 250

= 0.1748 M

Therefore, concentration of 250mL sodium sulphide solution is 0.1748 M

Since one mole Na₂S ionised to give 2moles Na⁺ ion, hence concentration of sodium ion in the solution is (2 × 0.1748)M = 0.3496 M

≈0.350 M

ivann1987 [24]

Answer:The formulas of ionic compounds are:

a)CuBr

b)Mn_2O_3

c)Hg_2I_2

d)Mg_3(PO_4)_2

Explanation:

Formulas for the an ionic compounds is determine by:

Criss-cross method, the oxidation state of the ions gets exchanged and they form the subscripts of the other ions. This results in the formation of a neutral compound.

(a) Copper bromide :Given that it contains Cu^+ ion.

Cu^++Br^-\rightarrow CuBr

(b) Manganese oxide : Given that it contains Mn^{3+} ion.

Mn^{3+}+O^{2-}\rightarrow Mn_2O_3

(c)Mercury iodide :Given that it contains Hg_2^{2+}

Hg_2^{2+}+I^-\rightarrow Hg_2I_2

(d) Magnesium phosphate :Given that it contains PO_4^{3-}

Mg^{2+}+PO_4^{3-}\rightarrow Mg_3(PO_4)_2

Which pair of statements below is correct? Multiple Choice An octet is formed via ionic bonding when one or more valence electro
tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

An octet is formed via ionic bonding when one or more valence electrons are transferred from one atom to another.

An octet is formed via covalent bonding when valence electrons are shared between atoms.

An octet is always formed via ionic bonding

Explanation:  The essence of bonding is stability. An octet or duplet state is formed when one or more valence electrons are shared. when the electrons are shared, the type of bond formed is a covalent bond. An octet is formed via ionic bonding when one or more valence electrons are transferred from one atom to another.

Consider a culture medium on which only gram-positive organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus colonies can grow due to an elevat
Olin [163]
<h2>Selective & Differential Medium</h2>

Explanation:

  • Selective media allow specific types of organisms to develop, and inhibit the development of different living beings. The selectivity is cultivated in a few ways.For model, living beings that can use a given sugar are handily screened by making that sugar the main carbon source in the medium. On the other hand,selective hindrance of certain sorts of microorganisms can be accomplished by adding dyes, anti-infection agents, salts or explicit inhibitors which influence the digestion or enzyme systems of the living beings
  • Differential media are utilized to separate firmly related life forms or groups of living beings. owing to the pre of specific colors or synthetic compounds in the media, the creatures will deliver trademark changes or development designs that are utilized for ID or separation. An assortment of particular and differential media are utilized in clinical, demonstrative and water contamination research facilities, and in food and dairy laboratories
  • Selective media because elevated NaCI level is designed to help grow selective bacteria.differential media because the fermented sugar gives off a yellow halo which allows for differentiate between bacteria

A vessel contains Ar(g) at a high pressure. Which of the following statements best helps to explain why the measured pressure is
Luda [366]

Answer:

4. The combined volume of the Ar atoms is too large to be negligible compared with the total volume of the container.

Explanation:

Deviations from ideality are due to intermolecular forces and to the nonzero volume of the molecules themselves. At infinite volume, the volume of the molecules themselves is negligible compared with the infinite volume the gas occupies.

However, the volume occupied by the gas molecules must be taken into account. Each <u>molecule does occupy a finite, although small, intrinsic volume.</u>

The non-zero volume of the molecules implies that instead of moving in a given volume V they are limited to doing so in a smaller volume. Thus, the molecules will be closer to each other and repulsive forces will dominate, resulting in greater pressure than the one calculated with the ideal gas law, that means, without considering the volume occupied by the molecules.

How many molecules are in 3.6 grams of NaCl?
raketka [301]

Answer:

\boxed{\text{None}}

Explanation:

There are no molecules in NaCl, because it consists only of ions.

However, we can calculate the number of formula units (FU) of NaCl.

Step 1. Calculate the moles of NaCl

\text{No. of moles}=\text{3.6 g NaCl}\times \dfrac{\text{1 mol NaCl}}{\text{63.54 g NaCl}} = \text{0.0567 mol NaCl}

Step 2. Convert moles to formula units

\text{FU} = \text{0.0567 mol NaCl} \times \dfrac{6.022 \times 10^{23}\text{ FU NaCl}}{\text{1 mol NaCl}}\\\\= 3.4 \times 10^{22} \text{ FU NaCl}

There are \boxed{3.4 \times 10^{22} \text{ FU NaCl}} in 3.6 g of NaCl.
