It normally takes Julius 2 hours to mow the yard, but because he is in a hurry he asks his son, Marcos, to help him. If just his

son was doing the yard work it would take him 3 hours. How long will it take if both are working together? Use the formula 1/T_1 +1/T_2 =1/T_both where T_1 is the time required for Julius to complete the job alone, T_2 is the time required for Marcos to complete the job alone, and T_both is the time required to complete the job when they both work together. Answer as a decimal, rounded to one decimal place.

Answer: 1.2 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: : Time taken by Julius to complete the job alone: T_1=2\text{ hours}

Time taken by Marcos to complete the job alone : T_2=3\text{ hours}

Let the time taken by both to complete the job together = T

\dfrac{1}{T}=\dfrac{1}{T_1}+\dfrac{1}{T_2}

\Rightarrow\ \dfrac{1}{T}=\dfrac{1}{2}+\dfrac13\\\\\Rightarrow\ \dfrac{1}{T}=\dfrac{3+2}{2\times3}\\\\\Rightarrow\ \dfrac{1}{T}=\dfrac{5}{6}\\\\\Rightarrow\ T=\dfrac{6}{5}=1.2

Hence, it will take 1.2 hours to complete the job by working together.

ANEK [815]
The 8th grade does. All you do is divide each number by the amount of hours worked. So 6th grade 170/55 7th 112/4 and 8th 192/6
In the end its 6th= 3 dollars an hour 7th= 28 dolars an hour and 8th gets 32dollars an hour so they have the highest rate

Miguel created the ratio table below to show how he uses the money he earns at work. How much money will he save if he earns 120
loris [4]

Answer:

The money he will save if he earns $120.00 is <u> $90.00</u>.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

In the figure is the ratio of the savings and the earnings.

Now, to find out that how much savings will be if Miguel earns $120.00.

We need to get the percentage of the ratio of the earning and saving.

So, according to the table:

If he earns $10.00 then he saves $7.50.

\frac{7.50}{10}\times 100

=0.75\times 100

=75

So, if Miguel earns $10.00 he save the 75% of it.

If he earns $50.00 then he saves $37.50.

As we calculate the percentage as the above process then the saving is 75% of the earning.

And, if he earns  $150.00 and save $112.50 then it is also the 75% of the earning as mentioned above.

Now, to find the saving of the earning $120.00.

So, it will be 75% of the earning as we observe in the above case:

75% of $120.00

\frac{75}{100}\times 120

=0.75\times 120

=90

Therefore, the money he will save if he earns $120.00 is <u> $90.00</u>.

This is my last question!!! ~ <br> - can someone answer this question with explanation?
wlad13 [49]

The answer is 15.92

This comes from the use of any of the trig functions, but you want to pick whichever one fits best. Since we are given the angle 53 degrees and the adjacent side that measures 12, and we want to find the opposite side, we can simply enter these values into our trig function.

Tan(53deg) = x / 12

Tan(53deg) * 12 = x

1.32704482 * 12 = x

x = 15.92454
