Sue played four games of golf the modal score was 98 and the mean 100 and the range 10 What were the scores for the games

Physics
1 answer:
Lyrx [107]2 years ago
7 0

Answer:

Explanation:

Let the highest and lowest score be a and b respectively .

a - b = 10

a = 10 + b

The numbers in descending order are a , 98 , 98 , b .

mean = 100 , so

4 x 100 = a + 98 + 98 + b = 10 + b  + 98 + 98 + b = 206 + 2b

400 = 206 + 2b

2b = 194

b = 97

a = 107

So the scores were as follows

107 , 98 , 98 , 97

What is the gravitational force of attraction between a planet and a 17-kilogram mass that is falling freely toward the surface
PolarNik [594]

Answer:

a. 150 N

Explanation:

Gravitational Force: This is the force that act on a body under gravity.

The gravitational force always attract every object on or near the earth's surface. The earth therefore, exerts an attractive force on every object on or near it.

The S.I unit of gravitational force is Newton(N).

Mathematically, gravitational force of attraction is expressed as

(i) F = GmM/r² ........................ Equation 1 ( when it involves two object of different masses on the earth)

(ii) F = mg ............................... Equation 2 ( when it involves one mass and the gravitational field).

Given: m = 17 kg, g = 8.8 m/s²

Substituting into equation 2,

F = 17(8.8)

F = 149.6 N

F ≈ 150 N.

Thus the gravitational force = 150 N

The correct option is a. 150 N

The diagram shows two vectors that point west and north. What is the magnitude of the resultant vector? 13 miles 17 miles 60 mil
Kipish [7]
Using the formula A squared plus B squared equals C squared, we can find the solution by substituting 5 for A and 12 for B.

By squaring 5, we get 25, and by squaring 12, we get 144. Adding these, we get 169. The square root of this is 13.

When kicking a football, the kicker rotates his leg about the hip joint. (a) If the velocity of the tip of the kicker’s shoe is
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

Part a)

\omega = 33.33 rad/s

Part b)

F = 500 N

Part c)

R_{max} = 40.8 m

Explanation:

Part a)

As we know that the velocity of the tip of the kicker's shoe is given as

v = 35 m/s

also the length of the tip of the shoe from his hip joint is given as

L = 1.05 m

now the angular speed is given as

\omega = \frac{v}{L}

\omega = \frac{35}{1.05}

\omega = 33.33 rad/s

Part b)

As we know that force on the ball is given as rate of change in momentum of the ball

so it is given as

F = \frac{\Delta P}{\Delta t}

so we have

F = \frac{m(v_f - v_i)}{\Delta t}

F = \frac{0.500(20 - 0)}{20 \times 10^{-3}}

F = 500 N

Part c)

As we know that the formula of range is given as

R = \frac{v^2 sin(2\theta)}{g}

now for maximum range we know

\theta = 45 degree

R_{max} = \frac{v^2}{g}

R_{max} = \frac{20^2}{9.8}

R_{max} = 40.8 m

Your 64-cm-diameter car tire is rotating at 3.5 rev/s when suddenly you press down hard on the accelerator. After traveling 200
andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer: angular acceleration = 0.748rad/s²

Explanation: according to the question, our answer needs to be in rad/s², thus all units in rev/s will be converted to rad/s

Assuming the motion of the object is of a constant angular acceleration, then newton's laws of motion is applicable.

The formulae below is used

v² = u² + 2αθ

v = final angular speed =6rev/s = 6*2π = 12π rad/s

u =initial angular speed =3.5rev/s = 3.5 *2π = 7π rad/s

Note 1 rev = 2π rad.

α = angular acceleration.

θ = angular displacement.

Diameter = 64cm = 0.64m, radius = 64/2 = 32cm = 0.32m

The angular displacement can be gotten using the formulae below

S = rθ, where s= linear distance covered = 200m, r = radius = 0.32m

θ = S/r = 200/0.32=625 rad.

By substituting the parameter we have that

(12π)² = (7π)² + 2α(625)

1421.22 = 486.31 + 1250α

1421.22 - 486.31 = 1250α

934.91 = 1250α

α = 934.91/1250

α= 0.748 rad/s²

A man takes 20 seconds to climb 5m up a ladder. He weighs 720N. Calculate the power he must deliver to do this.
muminat

Answer:

Power = 180 Watt.

Explanation:

W = Work done = m x g x H.

m = mass of the body.

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s^2.

W = weight of the body = m x g = 720 N.

H = height of the body = 5 m.

t = Time = 20 s.

Plugging the above values in the formula we get:

W = 720 x 5 = 3600 J.

Power = \frac{W}{t}

           = \frac{3600}{20} = 180 Watt.

Therefore the required value of power = 180 Watt.
