The question is incomplete. The complete question is :

Jaina and Tomas compare their compound interest accounts to see how much they will have in the accounts after three years. They substitute their values shown below into the compound interest formula. Compound Interest Accounts Name Principal Interest Rate Number of Years Compounded Jaina $300 7% 3 Once a year Tomas $400 4% 3 Once a year. Which pair of equations would correctly calculate their compound interests?

Solution :

It is given that Jaina and Tomas wants to open an account by depositing a principal amount for a period of 3 years and wanted to calculate the amount they will have using the compound interest formula.

<u>So for Jiana</u> :

Principal, P = $300

Rate of interest, r = 7%

Time, t = 3

Compounded yearly

Therefore, using compound interest formula, we get

$A=P\left(1+\frac{r}{100}\right)^{t}$

   $=300\left(1+\frac{7}{100}\right)^{3}$

   $=300(1+0.07)^3$

<u>Now for Tomas </u>:

Principal, P = $400

Rate of interest, r = 4%

Time, t = 3

Compounded yearly

Therefore, using compound interest formula, we get

$A=P\left(1+\frac{r}{100}\right)^{t}$

   $=400\left(1+\frac{4}{100}\right)^{3}$

   $=400(1+0.04)^3$

Therefore, the pair of equations that would correctly calculate the compound interests for Jaina is $A=300(1+0.07)^3$ .

And the pair of equations that would correctly calculate the compound interests for Tomas is $A=400(1+0.04)^3$ .

The equation y 4.9t 2 3.5t 2.4 relates the height y in meters to the elapsed time t in seconds for a ball thrown downward at 3.5
tamaranim1 [39]

Answer:

t \approx 0.43\,s

Step-by-step explanation:

The vertical displacement function is y(t) = -4.9\cdot t^{2}-3.5\cdot t + 2.4, where y(t) is measured in meters and t in seconds. Ball hits the ground when y(t) = 0. That is:

-4.9\cdot t^{2}-3.5\cdot t + 2.4 = 0

Whose roots can be found by using the General Formula for Second-Order Polynomials:

t_{1,2} = \frac{3.5\pm \sqrt{(-3.5)^{2}-4\cdot (-4.9)\cdot (2.4)} }{2\cdot (-4.9)}

Solutions of this polynomial are:

t_{1} \approx 0.43\,s,t_{2} \approx -1.14\,s

Only the first root is physically consistent.

What is the value of 6i/1+i? 2 – 6i 2 + 6i 3 – 3i 3 + 3i
mihalych1998 [28]

6i/ (1+i)

multiply by the complex conjugate (1-i)/(1-i)

6i/(1+i) *  (1-i)/(1-i)

6i* (1-i) = 6i - 6i^2 = 6i - 6(-1) = 6i +6

(1+i)*(1-i)= 1-i +i -i^2 = 1 -i+i -(-1) = 1+1=2

(6+6i)/2

3+3i

Manny is making 12 quarts of orange juice from concentrate and water. The number of quarts of water is 3 times the number of qua
trasher [3.6K]

Answer: There are 3 quarts of concentrate and 9 quarts of water.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Ratio of number of quarts of water to number of quarts of concentrate is

3:1

Number of quarts of orange juice from concentrate and water = 12 quarts

So, the number of quarts of concentrate would be

\dfrac{1}{4}\times 12\\\\=\dfrac{12}{4}\\\\=3\ quarts

the number of quarts of water would be

\dfrac{3}{4}\times 12\\\\=3\times 3\\\\=9\ quarts

Hence, there are 3 quarts of concentrate and 9 quarts of water.

The function A(b) relates the area of a trapezoid with a given height of 10 and
Natali5045456 [20]

The function of the trapezoid area is:

A(x)=(B+b)*h/2

Where B and b are the bases and h is the height.

With the given data: h=10 B and b =7 and x (it may vary which one is bigger)

-----------

So that function becomes:

A(x)=(7+x)*10/2

A(x)=(7+x)*5

----------

So if you want the inverse function, you have to operate to find x:

A(x)/5=7+x

A(x)/5-7=x

----------

So the new function is:

x(A)=A/5-7

What percent of 55 is 34
mihalych1998 [28]
So,

To what percent 34 is of 55, we first need to find the fraction equivalent.

34 out of 55 parts or 34/55

Divide 34 by 55.

34/55 = 0.61818...

Now, we move the decimal point 2 places to the right in order to convert it to a percent.

6.1818...
61.81818...

Rounded to the nearest hundredth: 61.82%
Rounded to the nearest tenth: 61.8%
Rounded to the nearest percent: 62%
