Electric field strength = resistivity of copper x current density
where
p= 1.72 x 10^-8 <span>ohm meter
diameter = 2.05mm=.00205 m
current = 2.75 A
</span>get first the current density:
current density = current/ cross section area
find the cross section area
cross section area = pi.(d/2)^2;
cross section = 3.3 006x10-6 m^2
substitute the values
current density = 2.75A/3.3006x 10-6m^2
current density=35.55 x1 0^2 A/m^2
Electric field stregnth =1.72 x 10^-8 ohm meter x 35.55 x10^2 A/m^2
Electric field stregnth= 46.415 Volts/m

The electric field strength of copper is 46.415 V/m.

The free-body diagram of a crate is shown. What is the net force acting on the crate? 352 N to the left 176 N to the left 528 N
Umnica [9.8K]

As per given conditions there are two directions along which forces are acting

1. Net force along left direction is given as

F_{left} = 352N + 176 N = 528 N

2. Net force towards right direction is given as

F_{right} = 528N + 440 N = 968 N

now since the two forces here in opposite direction so here we will have net force given as

F_{net} = F_{right} - F_{left}

F_{net} = 968 - 528

F_{net} = 440 N

so here net forces must be 440 N towards right

A 3-cm high object is in front of a thin lens. The object distance is 4 cm and the image distance is –8 cm. (a) What is the foca
xenn [34]

Answer:

a) Focal length of the lens is 8 cm which is a convex lens

b) 6 cm

c) The lens is a convex lens and produces a virtual image which is upright and two times larger than the object.

Explanation:

u = Object distance =  4 cm

v = Image distance = -8 cm

f = Focal length

Lens Equation

\frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{u}+\frac{1}{v}\\\Rightarrow \frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{4}+\frac{1}{-8}\\\Rightarrow \frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{8}\\\Rightarrow f=\frac{8}{1}=-8\ cm

a) Focal length of the lens is 8 cm which is a convex lens

Magnification

m=-\frac{v}{u}\\\Rightarrow m=-\frac{-8}{4}\\\Rightarrow m=2

b) Height of image is 2×3 = 6 cm

Since magnification is positive the image upright

c) The lens is a convex lens and produces a virtual image which is upright and two times larger than the object.

A guitar string has a linear density of 8.30 ✕ 10−4 kg/m and a length of 0.660 m. the tension in the string is 56.7 n. when the
Sedbober [7]
Ans: Beat Frequency = 1.97Hz

Explanation:
The fundamental frequency on a vibrating string is

f =   \sqrt{ \frac{T}{4mL} }<span>  -- (A)</span>

<span>here, T=Tension in the string=56.7N,
L=Length of the string=0.66m,
m= mass = 8.3x10^-4kg/m * 0.66m = 5.48x10^-4kg </span>

Plug in the values in Equation (A)

<span>so </span>f = \sqrt{ \frac{56.7}{4*5.48*10^{-4}*0.66} }<span> = 197.97Hz </span>

<span>the beat frequency is the difference between these two frequencies, therefore:
Beat frequency = 197.97 - 196.0 = 1.97Hz

QUESTION:-A beam of white light shines onto a sheet of white paper. An identical beam of light shines onto a mirror. The light is scattered from the paper and reflected from the mirror.
Describe how scattering by paper and reflection by a mirror are different from each other.

ANSWER: Scattering sends or reflects light from each point on the object in all directions, whereas reflection sends light from each point on the object in one direction only (or to one point)
