The correct answer is 17.24 m/s. You get the answer by subtracting the two heights of the tracks which are 36.5 and 10.8 m, and the answer is 25.7. Since you already know the height at which the kinetic energy will be coming from, you then divide the amount of weight the roller coaster has to the distance it needs to travel in order for you to determine the speed of the car. So that is, 4,357 kg and 25.7 m and the answer is 169 kg/m. Dividing it to the earth's gravity of 9.8 m/s you'll get 17.24 m/s.

A girl swings on a playground swing in such a way that at her highest point she is 4.1 m from the ground, while at her lowest po
Umnica [9.8K]

Answer:

V1 =8.1 m/s

Explanation:

height at highest point (h2) = 4.1 m

height at lowest point (h1) = 0.8 m

acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s^{2}

from conservation of energy, the total energy at the lowest point will be the same as the total energy at the highest point. therefore

mgh1 + 0.5mV1^{2} = mgh2 + 0.5mV2^{2}

where

  • speed at highest point = V2
  • speed at lowest point = V1
  • mass of the girl and swing = m
  • at the highest point, the  speed is minimum (V1 = 0)
  • at the lowest point the speed is maximum (V2 is the maximum speed)
  • therefore the equation becomes mgh1 + 0.5mV1^{2} = mgh2

      m(gh1 + 0.5V1^{2}) = m(gh2)

      gh1 + 0.5V1^{2} = gh2

      V1 = \sqrt{\frac{gh2 - gh1}{0.5}}

now we can substitute all required values into the equation above.

V1 = \sqrt{\frac{(9.8x4.1) - (9.8x0.8)}{0.5}}

V1 = \sqrt{\frac{32.34}{0.5}}

V1 =8.1 m/s

melomori [17]

Answer: Anthony will be warmer after the game.

Explanation :

Anthony and Maelynn are watching a football game outside on a sunny day. Anthony is wearing a black shirt and Maelynn is wearing a white shirt. Anthony will be warmer after the game. The black color is a good absorber of radiation and a bad reflector.

The black color absorbs heat until a thermal equilibrium is attained. So, it is advisable to wear cotton clothes in summers not dark colored clothes.

A penny is placed on a rotating turntable. Where on the turntable does the penny require the largest centripetal force to remain
Artyom0805 [142]

Answer:

m = mass of the penny

r = distance of the penny from the center of the turntable or axis of rotation

w = angular speed of rotation of turntable

F = centripetal force experienced by the penny

centripetal force "F" experienced by the penny of "m" at distance "r" from axis of rotation is given as

F = m r w²

in the above equation , mass of penny "m"  and angular speed "w" of the turntable is same at all places. hence the centripetal force directly depends on the radius .

hence greater the distance from center , greater will be the centripetal force to remain in place.

So at the edge of the turntable , the penny experiences largest centripetal force to remain in place.

An object can be broken up by a planet's gravity once it passes the _______. The Jovian planets are composed primarily of ______
Rina8888 [55]

Answer:1. Roche limit

2.hydrogen

3.atmosphere

4.mercury

5.venus

6.when an object passes the Roche limit, the strength of gravity on the object increases. If the density of the planet is higher, then the object can break up farther away from the planet. If the density is lower, then the Roche limit is located closer to the planet

7.Farther our in the solar system, beyond the frost line, hydrogen was at a low enough temperature that it could condense. This allowed hydrogen to accumulate under gravity, eventually forming the Jovian planets
