Ok so what we see is if adriadne is 5 feet tall her shadow goes *3 that means 15 feet tall to know dixons shadow you divide 18/3 which is 6. he's 6ft tall

Answer: The height of Dixon is 6 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Dixon and his little sister Ariadne stand next to each other on the playground on a sunny afternoon.

Length of Ariadne's shadow = 15 feet

Height of Ariadne = 5 feet

Length of Dixon's shadow = 18 feet

We need to find the height of Dixon:

Since there is a direct variation between the length of shadow and the height of that particular person:

Let the height of Dixon be x.

So, According to question,

\frac{5}{15}=\frac{x}{18}\\\\\frac{1}{3}=\frac{x}{18}\\\\x=\frac{18}{3}\\\\x=6\ feet

Hence, the height of Dixon is 6 feet.

6 questions = 30 points someone please help me
eduard

Answer:

1)D

2)D

3)A

4)B

5)Cannot Answer - No data

6)C

7)C

6 Questions answered for 30 points.

Step-by-step explanation:

Answer for the 1st Question,

Area of a cylinder can be calculated by,

Area of the cylindrical part = 2\pi rL

Area of the parts that cover the open parts of cylinder = 2\pi r^2

Therefor Total are of the cylinder = 2\pi rL+2\pi r^2

Area of the total cylinder = 2*3.14*6.8*14.2+2*3.14*6.8^2

                                          =896.784

<u>Therefor best estimate will be D) 923 in^2</u>

Answer for the 2nd Question,

ABC is a triangle.

By Pythagorean theorem it says,

(AC)^2+(CB)^2=(AB)^2

The distance from A to C = 6

The distance from C to B = 5

(AC)^2=6^2=36

(CB)^2=5^2=25

(AC)^2+(CB)^2=(AB)^2=36+25=61

Therefor (AB)^2=61\\(AB)=\sqrt{61}

<u>Therefor Answer is D) Sqr 61</u>

Answer to Question 3

To find the trend you can draw an imaginary line that fits the scatter plots.(I have attached a image drawing the imaginary lines)

Then the revenue can be calculated by calculating the area covered by the imaginary line drawn or area "under" the curve.

Area of the Store 1 =\frac{1}{2} *(110+40)*110=8250

Area of the Store 2=\frac{1}{2} *110*80=4400

Therefore Revenue from Store 1 = $8250

                 Revenue from Store 2 = $4400

<u>Answer is A) Store 1  has more sales revenue</u>

Answer for Question 4

\frac{5}{12}=0.4167\\\frac{5}{11}=0.4545

You can straight away discard answer D because it is less than both 5/12 and 5/11.

Also you can discard Answer C because 25/264 is very small (less than 1/10=0.1)

\frac{11}{23} =0.4782, therefor this is not in between those two numbers.

Then it has to be \frac{115}{264} =0.4356

<u>Answer is B)</u>

Answer for question 6

The equation of a straight line is of the form y=mx+c

here m is the gradient and c is the intercept.

Find the intercept(c) by finding the y value when x value is 0, here it is +1.

Gradient (m) of the graph can be found by,

\frac{y1-y2}{x1-x2} =\frac{7-3}{3-1} =2

Therefor the equation of the graph is,

y=2x+1

<u>Answer is C</u>

Answer for question 7

\frac{7}{8} =0.875

\frac{6}{9} =0.67

We can discard answer A because the value is close to 0.5

We can discard answer B because 3/17 is a very small value (0.17)

\frac{53}{72} =0.73, This falls between the above 2 numbers.

<u>Therefor answer is C</u>

Bones Brothers &amp; Associates prepare individual tax returns. Over prior years, Bones Brothers have maintained careful records
madreJ [45]

Answer:

For this case we have the following info related to the time to prepare a return

\mu =90 , \sigma =14

And we select a sample size =49>30 and we are interested in determine the standard deviation for the sample mean. From the central limit theorem we know that the distribution for the sample mean \bar X is given by:

\bar X \sim N(\mu, \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}})

And the standard deviation would be:

\sigma_{\bar X} =\frac{14}{\sqrt{49}}= 2

And the best answer would be

b. 2 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The central limit theorem states that "if we have a population with mean μ and standard deviation σ and take sufficiently large random samples from the population with replacement, then the distribution of the sample means will be approximately normally distributed. This will hold true regardless of whether the source population is normal or skewed, provided the sample size is sufficiently large".

Solution to the problem

For this case we have the following info related to the time to prepare a return

\mu =90 , \sigma =14

And we select a sample size =49>30 and we are interested in determine the standard deviation for the sample mean. From the central limit theorem we know that the distribution for the sample mean \bar X is given by:

\bar X \sim N(\mu, \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}})

And the standard deviation would be:

\sigma_{\bar X} =\frac{14}{\sqrt{49}}= 2

And the best answer would be

b. 2 minutes

A circle has diameter of 11cm
dlinn [17]

Since length of diagonal (  Diagonal= 9.9cm ) is less than diameter of circle ( 11 cm ) , Therefore , the square will fit inside the circle without touching the edge of the circle.

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Here we have , A circle has diameter of 11 cm  A square has side length of 7 cm . Use Pythagoras’ Theorem to show that the square will fit inside the circle without touching the edge of the circle . Let's find out:

We know the concept that for any square to fit inside the circle without touching the edge of circle  , diagonal of square must be less than diameter of circle  . Let's find out length of diagonal by using Pythagoras Theorem :

Hypotenuse ^2 = Perpendicular^2+Base^2

For a square , Perpendicular = base = side

⇒ Diagonal^2 = 2(side)^2

⇒ Diagonal= \sqrt{2}(side)

⇒ Diagonal= \sqrt{2}(7)

⇒ Diagonal= 9.9cm

Since length of diagonal (  Diagonal= 9.9cm ) is less than diameter of circle ( 11 cm ) , Therefore , the square will fit inside the circle without ruching the edge of the circle.

Which ordered pair minimizes the objective function C = 60x + 85y?. (0, 160). (55, 70). (80, 50). (170, 0)
dangina [55]

Step-by-step explanation:

The given objective function is C = 60x + 85y

To check that which ordered pair is minimizing the objective function-we will substitute all the ordered pair one by one in the given function and we will calculate the value of C. The ordered pair which will give the minimum value will be the answer.

For (0, 160)

C=60\times 0+85\times 160=13600

For (55, 70)

C=60\times 55+85\times 70=9250

For (80, 50)

C=60\times 80+85\times 50=9050

For (80, 50)

C=60\times 170+85\times 0=10200

Hence the ordered pair which minimizes the objective function is (80, 50)
