In the problem it is already given that Weston Laundry washed 285.38 pounds of towel and 353.47 pounds of sheets from local hotels in 1 day. Firstly we have to find the total pounds of linens that Weston Laundry has washed in 7 days. Then only will it be possible to find the amount of linen washed in a day.
Then t
Total linen washed by Weston Laundry in 7 days = (285.38 + 353.47) pounds
                                                                               = 638.85 pounds.
Then
The amount of linen washed by Weston Laundry in 1 day = 638.85/7
                                                                                             = 91.26 pounds
So Weston Laundry washed about 91.26 pounds of linen each day.

Using the midpoint method, find the cross-price elasticity of demand for FedEx and UPS overnight shipping if the price of FedEx
IrinaK [193]

Answer:

Cross price elasticity using midpoint method = 0.56

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the mid-point method

Cross-price Elasticity of Demand = % change in Quantity demanded of UPS

                                                          % change of price of FedEx

%change in Quantity demanded of UPS

using Mid-point method                          =  Q2-Q1             × 100

                                                                     (Q1+Q2)÷ 2

                                      = 1.3-1.2              × 100

                                        (1.2+1.3)÷2

                                     = 0.1       × 100

                                       1.25

                                     = 8%

% change in price of FedEx

using midpoint method    = P2-P1            × 100

                                             (P1+P2)÷ 2

                                          = 75-65           × 100

                                            (65+75)÷2

                                          = 10     × 100

                                             70

                                          = 14.28%

Cross-price Elasticity of Demand =  8% ÷ 14.28%

using midpoint method                = 0.56

A pond had 60 fish. 27 were carp and the rest were tench. 10 fish were added. The probability that a fish picked at random is a
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer: 2

Explanation:

A pond had 60 fish but 10 were added so now the pond has 70 fish.

The probability of choosing a carp is 1/2 so \frac{1}{2} (70) = 35 are now carp.

There were 27 carp and now there are 35 carp so 8 carp were added.

10 fish were added and 8 of them were carp so 2 of them were tench.

David proved the Law of Cosines with reference to ∆ABC using a different method. Arrange the steps of his proof in the correct s
AURORKA [14]

Answer: We can arrange the steps with help of below explanation.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here ABC is a triangle,

Draw a perpendicular from BD to side AC ( construction)

where D\in AC

In the right triangle BCD, from the definition of cosine:

cos C =CD/ BC

CD= a cos C

Subtracting this from the side b, we see that

DA= b-acos C

In the triangle BCD, from the definition of sine:

sin C =BD  / a

BD = a sin C

In the triangle ADB, applying the Pythagorean Theorem

c^2  =BD^2 +DA^2

Substituting for BD and DA from (2) and (3)

c^2 =(asinC)^2 +(b-acosC)^2

⇒c^2 =a^2sin ^2C+b^2-2ab cosC+a^2 cos ^2C   ( On simplification)

⇒c^2 =a^2sin ^2C+a^2 cos ^2C+b^2-2abcos C

⇒c^2=a^2(sin^2C+cos^2C) +b^2-2abcosC

⇒c^2 = a^2+b^2-2abcosC (because,sin^2\theta+cos^2\theta =1 )
