This qualify as violation of copyright laws, this is because you have reproduced the DVD for re-distribution, otherwise known as piracy. This is the situation whereby you produce the original copy of someones else's original work without their consent. By producing another copy of the DVD that would be violation of the copyright laws, therefore we conclude that what the friend did was illegal.

vampirchik [111]

Answer:

1. Total of amortisation for 3 years = 16+17+19 = 52

Bonds issue price = 1000 - 52 = $948

2.

Bond is sold at discount.

Amount of discount = Amount of amortisation over 3 years

= $52

3.

Amount to be shown in balancesheet will be inclusive of the amortisation charge for the year

Bonds payable at the end of Year 1 = 948 + 16 = 964

Bonds payable at the end of Year 2 = 964 + 17 = 981

4.

a,

$60 is the amount of interest paid per annum. This is calulated on the facevalue of bond

$1,000x x6% = %60

b,

$77 is the interest expense for Year 2.

This is sum of Interest paid and Amortisation charge for the year

= 60 + 17 =77

c,

$17 is the amortization expence for Year 2

Opening balance of Bonds payable for Year 2 = $964

Market rate of interest = 8%

Interest charge for Year 2 = $77

Cash paid as interest = $60

Hence amortisaton charge for Year 2 = Interest expense - Interest paid = $77 - $60 = $17

d,

$981 is the balnce of balance of bonds payble after Year 2

Balance for Year 2 = Opening balance payable + Amortisation expence for the Year (arived from Step 4c above) = $964 + $17

= $981

Bluebird Mfg. has received a special one-time order for 15,000 bird feeders at $3 per unit. Bluebird currently produces and sell
Orlov [11]

Answer:

Net income will increase by $11,250

Explanation:

Provided information,

Current sales = 75,000 units which represents 80% capacity

Therefore, 100% capacity = \frac{75,000}{0.8} = 93,750 units

Fixed cost at 100% capacity = $1.25 \times 93,750 = $117,187.50

Therefore,

Current net income

Sales = 75,000 \times $7.00 = $525,000

Less: Variable cost = 75,000 \times $3.50 = $262,500

Less: Fixed Cost = $117,187.50

Net Operating Income = $145,312.50

Now with the additional order, which is of 15,000 units the additional ideal capacity of 20% will be utilized, further no fixed cost will be incurred, as the entire fixed cost for 100% capacity is utilized, thus

Sales = 15,000 \times $3 = $45,000

Less: Variable cost = 15,000 \times $2.25 = $33,750

Net Income = $11,250

Thus, the net income will increase by $11,250
