Given:
The total distance from the apartment to the coffee shop = 9 miles.
Distance from the apartment to the park = 5x².
Distance from the park to the coffee shop = 25x - 8.

Assume that all three locations lie in a straight line.
Then
5x² + 25x - 8 = 9
5x² + 25x - 17 = 0

Solve with the quadratic formula.
x = (1/10)[ -25 +/- √(25²+340 )] = 0.6064 or -5.6064.
Reject the negative answer.

Therefore,
Distance from the apartment to the park = 5x² = 1.839 miles.
Distance from the park to the coffee shop = 25x - 8 = 7.16 miles.

Answer:  x = 0.6064

attashe74 [19]

OK, so this is assuming we are considering that the first three kids to solve ARE NOT in the first day.

So we have 3 kids and it doubles

Day 1 : 6

Day 2 : 12

Day 3 : 24

Day 4 : 48

Day 5 : 96

Day 6 : 192

Day 7: 384

So it should take 7 days or a week to solve all the problems.

The equation:

(3 * 2)^x = 384

Elodia [21]

Answer:

29 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Total = \$43.25

Entrance\ Fee = \$7

Per\ Minute = \$1.25

Required

Determine the number of minutes (t) that he was on the trampoline.

This can be expressed as:

Total\ Payment = Entrance\ Fee + Amount\ per\ minute * t

Where t represents the number of minutes

Substitute values for Total, Entrance Fee and Amount per minute

43.25 = 7 + 1.25 * t

43.25 = 7 + 1.25t

Solving further to get the value of t, we have:

1.25t = 43.25 - 7

1.25t = 36.25

t = 36.25/1.25

t = 29
