A compound is 80.0% carbon and 20.0% hydrogen by mass. assume you have a 100.-g sample of this compound. how many grams of each

element are in this sample? enter the number of grams of carbon followed by the number of grams of hydrogen, separated by a comma (e.g., 30.0,70.0).

(80.0, 20.0) The statement states that 80% of the compound is carbon. To acheive the amount of carbon in a 100 g sample, you need to multiply the weight of the sample by the percentage of carbon in the compound. Recall that 80%=80/100=.8 .8*100g=80g of carbon. The same process goes for the hydrogen. .2*100g=20g hydrogen.

Henri becquerel and the curies found out that _____.
natulia [17]

Henri becquerel and the curies found out that atoms were not indivisible and indestructible

Explanation:

The French Physicist, Henri Becquerel, created the appearance of radioactivity. He shared the Nobel Prize in Physics with Marie Curie and Pierre Curie (Marie's husband) in 1903 for their work in radiation. A radionuclide will emit transmission through the process of radioactive sense.

The easiest way to determine whether a process is exothermic or endothermic is to note the change in temperature in a calorimete
Kryger [21]

Answer:

In the calorimeter, water is the exothermic. The salt LiCI, which will dissolve, is the endothermic. The final temperature of the water after the dissolution of LiCI was lower than the initial temperature, meaning the process is exothermic. In the microscopic view of the disspolution of LiCI, water molecules were seen to move slowly as they gained energy.

Explanation:

Exothermic is a process in which heat is released during the process. Endothermic reactions absorbs heat from surrounding during a chemical process. The dissolution of salt into water is an exothermic reaction. During this process heat is release and water molecules are broken down which are surrounded by salt ions.

What is the molarity of a solution that contains 2.35 g of nh3 in 0.0500 l of solution?
tankabanditka [31]
The molarity is the number of moles in 1 L of the solution.
The mass of NH₃ given - 2.35 g
Molar mass of NH₃ - 17 g/mol
The number of NH₃ moles in 2.35 g - 2.35 g / 17 g/mol = 0.138 mol
The number of moles in 0.05 L solution - 0.138 mol
Therefore number of moles in 1 L - 0.138 mol / 0.05 L x 1L = 2.76 mol
Therefore molarity of NH₃ - 2.76 M

What is the predicted order of first ionization energies from highest to lowest for beryllium, calcium, magnesium, and strontium
Svetach [21]
We can predict the order of the elements given above according from the highest to lowest first ionization energies by using the trends in a periodic table. For elements in a family, the ionization energy decreases as it goes down. Therefore, the correct order would be Be, Mg, Ca, Sr.
