Ego integrity VS despair.

As we grow older (65+ yrs) and become senior citizens, we tend to slow down our productivity and explore life as a retired person. It is during this time that we contemplate our accomplishments and can develop integrity if we see ourselves as leading a successful life. Erik Erikson believed if we see our lives as unproductive, feel guilt about our past, or feel that we did not accomplish our life goals, we become dissatisfied with life and develop despair, often leading to depression and hopelessness.

Answer and Explanation:

Given that we live in a federative republic, where state and local governments must share responsibility with the federal government, I believe that the role of the federal government in education should not be expanded, but the role of state and local governments. This is because the federal government knows the educational needs of the national territory in a generalized way, and may not, in fact, meet the needs of each region. However, state and local governments know this need in a more specific and complete way, in this case, the increase in the roles of this government with education can be much more profitable and advantageous than the increase in the role of the federal government.

What is the MOST LIKELY reason some people believe “water wars” may occur in Africa in the future?
zhenek [66]

Answer and

Explanation -

A study finds that serious conflicts over water are going to arise around the globe.

The 5 hotspots identified by the paper include areas of the Nile, Ganges-Brahmaputra, Indus, Tigris-Euphrates, and Colorado rivers.

It's still possible to change course if we are prepared to address the effects of climate change.

A new paper paints a disturbing picture of a nearby future where people are fighting over access to water. These post-apocalyptic-sounding "water wars" could rise as a result of climate change and population growth and could become real soon enough if we don't take steps to prevent them.

The study, which comes from the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC), says that the effects of climate change will be combined with an ever-increasing number of people to trigger intense competition for increasingly scarce resources. This can lead to regional instability and social unrest.

The paper pointed to several hotspots in the world where "hydro-political issues" are more likely to flare up. Not surprisingly, these are areas having problems with accessing fresh water and where a "transboundary" to water exists. That means the people in that area share some body of water, like a lake or a river. So in times of scarcity due to environmental factors and growing population, the water resources become thin and tensions result.

In particular, the five most vulnerable hotspots highlighted by the paper include the Nile, Ganges-Brahmaputra, Indus, Tigris-Euphrates, and Colorado rivers.
