Answer: True

A food chain is a linear sequence of supply or transfer of food and energy when one organism is consumed by another in an ecosystem. The energy being transferred to different organisms can be studied on the basis of energy pyramid in which energy is distributed among organisms in subsequent trophic levels. At the base level, the producers or plants obtain energy from sun which they utilize to produce food or biomass energy. The biomass energy from plants is transferred to primary consumers or herbivores. The primary consumers are eaten up by secondary consumers. The secondary consumers are eaten up by tertiary consumers.

This can be concluded that the initial source of energy being distributed to all trophic levels in food chain is originated from sun. Therefore, the statement "In an ecosystem, energy that flows to tertiary consumers ultimately originates from the sun" is true.

Platinum has a density of 21.4 g/cm3. if thieves were to steal platinum from a bank using a small truck with a maximum payload o
slega [8]
We will convert the 1dm3 in terms of cm3 as follows:

1dm^3 = (10 cm)^3
= 1000 cm^3

The mass of platinum is equal to 900 lb.
Then we will convert the mass in terms of grams as follows:
1 lb = 453.6 g
900 = 900 x 453.6 g
= 408240 g

Then density of platinum is equal to 21.4 g/cm^3
We will calculate the volume of platinum in mass 408240 g as follows:
Volume of platinum = mass of platinum / density of platinum
= 408240 g / 21.4 g/cm^3
= 19076.6 cm^3

The total volume of platinum is 19076.6 cm^3
The volume of platinum in 1 L bar is 1000cm^3
So, to calculate the number of bars we will use the formula as follows;
Number of bars = volume of platinum available / volume of platinum required in 1 L bar
= 19076.6 cm^3 / 1000 cm^3
= 19
So, the number of bars are 19.

A free falling object has the velocity time graph shown. What is the objects displacement between 0.0 and 6.0s
zloy xaker [14]

For free fall motion the displacement can be found by graphically as well as by kinematics equation

Here acceleration of object is constant as it fall due to gravity so we can use

d = v_i * t + \frac{1}{2}at^2

here if body starts with zero initial speed then we can say

d = 0 + \frac{1}{2}*9.8*t^2

here we need to find the displacement from t = 0 to t = 6s

so we can say

d = \frac{1}{2}*9.8*6^2

d = 176.4 m

so the displacement will be 176.4 m

in order to find the displacement from the graph of velocity and time we need to find the area under the graph for given time interval that will also give us same displacement for given period of time.

Calculate the most probable speed of an ozone molecule in the stratosphere
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

v_{mp}=305.83 m/s

Explanation:

The temperature in stratosphere is generally about 270 K

molecular weight of an ozone molecule = 48 gm/mole

now formula for most probable velocity

v_{mp}= \sqrt{\frac{2RT}{M} }

plugging the values we get

v_{mp}= \sqrt{\frac{2\8.314\times270}{48} }

v_{mp}=305.83 m/s

A small metallic bob is suspended from the ceiling by a thread of negligible mass. The ball is then set in motion in a horizonta
shusha [124]

Answer:

19.99 kg m²/s

Explanation:

Angular Momentum (L) is defined as the product of the moment of Inertia (I) and angular velocity (w)

L = m r × v.

r and  v are perpendicular to each other,

where r = lsinθ.

l = 2.4 m

θ= 34°

g = 9.8 m/s²  and m = 5 kg

resolving using newtons second law in the vertical and horizontal components.

T cos θ − m g = 0

T sin θ − mw² lsin θ = 0

where T is the force with which the wire acts on the bob

w = √g / lcosθ

= √ 9.8 / 2.4 ×cos 34

= 2.2193 rad/s

the angular momentum  L = mr× v

= mw (lsin θ)²

= 5 × 2.2193 (2.4 ×sin 34°)²

=19.99 kg m²/s
