For this case, what we are going to do is write a linear equation of the form:

 T = 7.5 * x -10

 Where.

 7.5: heating speed of the pizza.

 -10: initial temperature.

 x: time in minutes.

 For x = 12 we have:

 T = 7.5 * (12) -10

 T = 90-10

 T = 80

 Therefore the equation is correct.

 Answer:

 T = 7.5 * x -10

If Zoe orders a book from store Y how much tax will she pay?
Cerrena [4.2K]

Answer:

The amount of tax Zoe would pay if she bought a book from Store Y would be $1.44.

Step-by-step explanation:

I got this because to find the tax you need to pay, you take the percentage and move the decimal point twice to the left; in this case it would go from 8% to 0.08 because the decimal point is at the end of the number. You multiply the 0.08 by the amount the book costs, and you get the amount of tax you have to pay.

A disco ball is shaped like a sphere with a diameter of 16 inches. To the nearest square inch, what is the surface of the disco
Mademuasel [1]
If the diameter is 16 inches, then its radius is half that, r = 8.

\bf \textit{surface area of a sphere}\\\\
A=4\pi r^2\quad
\begin{cases}
r=radius\\
-----\\
r=8
\end{cases}\implies A=4\pi 8^2

An expression is well-defined if you can compute its value without any illegal operations. examples of expressions that are not
Gelneren [198K]
The given <span>expression is \frac{\sqrt{x + 1} + \sqrt{1 - x}}{\sqrt{x}}
</span>
So, we have 3 square roots.
The number under a square root sign must be Non negative.
Beside that the denominator must be not equal zero.
For the term ⇒⇒⇒ \sqrt{x}
∴ x > 0 ⇒⇒⇒ x ∈ (0,∞)
For the term ⇒⇒⇒ \sqrt{x+1}
∴x+1 ≥ 0 ⇒⇒⇒ x ≥ -1 ⇒⇒⇒ ∴ x ∈ [-1,∞)
For the term ⇒⇒⇒ \sqrt{1-x}
∴ 1-x ≥ 0 ⇒⇒⇒ x ≤ 1 ⇒⇒⇒ x ∈ (-∞,1]

So, The values of x which make the <span>expression well defined
</span>
<span>∴ x ∈ { </span><span>(0,∞) ∪ </span><span>[-1,∞) ∪ </span><span>(-∞,1]  }
</span><span>
</span><span>∴ x ∈ [-1,0) ∪ (0,1]
</span><span>
</span><span>OR can be written as ⇒⇒ x ∈ [-1,1] - {0}
