There's no need to graph. If the slopes are the same value, then the lines are parallel. If the two slopes multiply to -1, then the lines are perpendicular.

A special case is if you have a slope of a 0 and an undefined slope, then the lines are perpendicular (as a horizontal and vertical line are always perpendicular).

Isabella filled her pool with water at a constant rate.
AlladinOne [14]

(184-94)/5=18

This means that she fills up 18 liters every minute. Thus she will be done in->

184(original amount)+(2 minutes (time passed during first data point)*18(rate of water)=184+36=220

To find the total time taken we divide 220 by 18 which is 220/18=12 2/9

Expand and simplify (k-3)^7
nikklg [1K]
There are a couple of ways you can solve this. You can write it out like
(K-3)(K-3)(K-3)(K-3)(K-3)(K-3)(K-3)
And pretty much use the foil method
Or you can use the binomial theorem (google it if you dont know)
The solution should be:
(K^7) - 21(k^6) + 189(k^5) - 945(k^4) + 2835(k^3) - 5103(k^2) + 5103k - 2187

Find the area of the shape below.
lawyer [7]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  164π cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a circle is given by the formula ...

  A = πr²

The radius (r) is half the diameter (d), so the area of a semicircle in terms of its diameter is ...

  1/2A = (1/2)(π)(d/2)² = (π/8)d²

The given shape is the combination of three (3) semicircles. The smallest has a diameter of 6 cm; the middle-sized one has a diameter of (32 cm -6 cm -8 cm) = 18 cm. The largest has a diameter of 32 cm.

The total area will be ...

area of largest + area of middle-size - area of smallest

  = (π/8)(32² +18² -6²) = (π/8)(1312) . . . . cm²

The area of the shape is 164π cm².
