50% or 1/2 of 4 is 2 50% or 1/2 of 6 is 3 so then just add them to the respective number since its going up by 50% or 2 in by 3 in \[\frac{ 6 }{ 9}\]

The size of the image is 4 inch by 6 inch

Size of the image scale up by 50%

4 in increased by 50 % = New length = x

\frac{x}{4}=\frac{50}{100}

Cross multiply, we get

100 x = 4(50)

100x = 200

Divide both side by 100, to find x

x = 200/100

x = 2

New length = original length + increased length

New length = 4 + 2 = 6 in

6 in increased by 50 % = New length = y

\frac{y}{6}=\frac{50}{100}

Cross multiply, we get

100 y = 6(50)

100y = 300

Divide both side by 100, to find y

y = 300/100

y= 3

New length = original length + increased length

New length = 6 + 3 = 9 in

So New dimensions are 6 in by 9 in

A local PTA runs a fundraiser, selling lottery tickets for $5, offering 1 first prize of $100 and 5 second prizes worth $20 each
podryga [215]
100 tickets were sold.
The total amount of the tickets sold is = 5 * 100 = $500.
First prize given = $100
Second prize worth = $20 * 5 = $100
Total worth of prize + $100 + $100 = $200.
Net amount of tickets sold = $500 - $200 = $300
Expected price of each ticket sold = $300/100 = 3.
Therefore, the real price of each ticket sold is $3.

Whats another way to write 300 70 5/10 8/100?
Aloiza [94]
I don't understand what you mean by 300 and 70, unless you meant 300/70 (in that case it would be 30/7).

5/10 would be 1/5

8/100 would be 2/25.

A recipe calls for 5 ounces of vinegar and 10 ounces of oil. Daren is making dressing with 9 ounces of vinegar using the same ra
g100num [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Set this up as ratio of vinegar to oil in fraction form:

\frac{v}{o}:\frac{5}{10}

That's what we're given.  If we are looking to find how much oil he needs if he's using 9 ounces of vinegar, then 9 goes on top with the vinegar stuff and x goes on bottom as the unknown amount of oil:

\frac{v}{o}:\frac{5}{10}=\frac{9}{x}

Cross multiply to get

5x = 90 and

x = 18

Which you probably could do without the proportions.  If he is using 5 ounces of vinegar and double that amount of oil, then it just makes sense that if he uses 9 ounces of vinegar he will double that amount in oil to use 18 ounces.
