Answer:

The angle of refraction is 16.7°

Explanation:

The Snell´s law is:

(sinθi/sinθr)=nr/ni

Where θi is the angle of incidence, θr is the angle of refraction, ni is the first refractive index and nr is the second refractive index. Clearing θr:

θr=sin^-1((ni*sinθi)/nr))=sin^-1((1000*sin22.5)/1.333)=16.7°

Snell's law states that: Sin Фi = n Sin Фr. Where Фi= Incidence angle, Фr = refractive angle or angle of refraction and n= refractive index. For water, n=1.33

In this case, Фi=22.5°

Then, Sin 22.5 = 1.33 Sin Фr => Sin Фr= (Sin 22.5)/1.33 =0.2877

Фr= Sin^- (0.2877) = 16.72°

statuscvo [17]

Answer:

37357 sec

or 622 min

or 10.4 hrs

Explanation:

GIVEN DATA:

Lifting weight 80 kg

1 cal = 4184 J

from information given in question we have

one lb fat consist of 3500 calories = 3500 x 4184 J

= 14.644 x 10^6 J

Energy burns in 1 lift = m g h

                                  = 80 x 9.8 x 1 = 784 J

lifts required = \frac{(14.644 x 10^6)}{784}

                      = 18679

from the question,

1 lift in 2 sec.

so, total time = 18679 x 2 = 37357 sec

or 622 min

A ball is launched with initial speed v from ground level up a frictionless slope (This means the ball slides up the slope witho
amid [387]

Answer:

hmax = 1/2 · v²/g

Explanation:

Hi there!

Due to the conservation of energy and since there is no dissipative force (like friction) all the kinetic energy (KE) of the ball has to be converted into gravitational potential energy (PE) when the ball comes to stop.

KE = PE

Where KE is the initial kinetic energy and PE is the final potential energy.

The kinetic energy of the ball is calculated as follows:

KE = 1/2 · m · v²

Where:

m = mass of the ball

v = velocity.

The potential energy is calculated as follows:

PE = m · g · h

Where:

m = mass of the ball.

g = acceleration due to gravity (known value: 9.81 m/s²).

h = height.

At  the maximum height, the potential energy is equal to the initial kinetic energy because the energy is conserved, i.e, all the kinetic energy was converted into potential energy (there was no energy dissipation as heat because there was no friction). Then:

PE = KE

m · g · hmax = 1/2 · m · v²

Solving  for hmax:

hmax = 1/2 · v² / g

Ancient Greek philosophers spent lots of time thinking about science and imaging explanations for the natural world. What part o
Illusion [34]

Answer:

Testing

Explanation:

Ancient Greek philosophers lived with the ideology to simply contemplate life. This means that their whole life revolved around thinking and questioning everything. This would include creative thinking, because they would sometimes come up with theories which require creativeness. They would often debate with their friends as to why their theory should be accepted or what their opinions were on the matter. More often than not, they argued a lot, and many philosophers went against some powerful people in the community and some were even sentenced to death.

The main process they didn't/couldn't do was the testing. They could never test certain theories because they did not have the means to.
