 The   compound that  could serve  as  a reactant   in the neutralization reaction is    H2SO4

  Explanation
   Neutralization reaction occur  between an acids  and a base. H2SO4             (  sulfuric acid)  is  a strong  acid.  It can be neutralized by  strong base such as NaOH ( sodium  hydroxide)

  Example of neutralization reaction is

2NaOH + H2SO4 → Na2SO4  + 2H2O

Are carboxylic acids of more than 10 carbons more soluble in polar or nonpolar solvents? Explain.
lina2011 [118]

Answer: Non polar solvents

Explanation:

Since with increasing the size of alkyl group hydrophobic nature increases and solubility in polar solvents decreases .

Hence Carboxylic acids with more than 10 carbon atoms, solubility is more in non polar solvents.

Solid aluminum metal and diatomic chlorine gas react spontaneously to form a solid product. Give the balanced chemical equation
ValentinkaMS [17]

When solid aluminum metal is reacted with diatomic chlorine gas, solid aluminum chloride is formed. This reaction is an example of synthesis or chemical combination in which two elements, aluminum and chlorine combine to form a new compound aluminum chloride.

Word equation: Aluminum (s)+ Chlorine (g)---> Aluminum chloride(s)

Molecular formula of the product formed is AlCl_{3}.

Therefore the balanced chemical equation representing the reaction of solid aluminum with gaseous dichlorine can be represented as,

2Al(s) + 3Cl_{2}(g)-->2AlCl_{3}(s)

Select all true statements about hybridization, of a second-row element, changing from sp2 to sp3. (max of 3 choices) a. The ato
Neko [114]

Answer:

a. The atom will go from a two-dimensional configuration to a three dimensional configuration.

d. The bond angle will increase.

f. The number of unhybridized p orbitals will decrease.

Explanation:

Sp2 is the atomic bond in which orbitals mixes with only two orbitals. These orbitals form three sp2. When two carbon atoms are overlapped they form sigma bond by overlapping of sp2 bonds. Sp3 bond is created when there is one lone molecule available for combination. When the bonding is updated from sp2 to sp3 then unhybridized orbitals will decrease causing the bond angle to increase.

A 251 g strip of glass wool is used to insulate a reaction flask. During the reaction the temperature of the glass wool increase
Ivahew [28]

Answer:

8.9 KJ

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of strip = 251 g

Initial temperature = 22.8 °C

Final temperature = 75.9 °C

Specific heat  capacity of granite = 0.67 j/g.°C

Solution:

Specific heat capacity:

It is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one gram of substance by one degree.

Formula:

Q = m.c. ΔT

Q = amount of heat absorbed or released

m = mass of given substance

c = specific heat capacity of substance

ΔT = change in temperature

ΔT = 75.9 °C - 22.8 °C

ΔT = 53.1 °C

Q = 251 g × 0.67 j/g.°C × 53.1 °C

Q = 8929.8 J

Jolue to KJ.

8929.8J ×1 KJ / 1000 J

8.9 KJ
