It has not been indicated whether the figure in the questions is a triangle or a quadrilateral. Irrespective of the shape, this can be solved. The two possible shapes and angles have been indicated in the attached image.

Now, from the information given we can infer that there is a line BD that cuts angle ABC in two parts: angle ABD and angle DBC

⇒ Angle ABC = Angle ABD + Angle DBC

Also, we know that angle ABC is 1 degree less than 3 times the angle ABD, and that angle DBC is 47 degree

Let angle ABD be x

⇒ Angle ABC = 3x-1

Also, Angle ABC = Angle ABD + Angle DBC

Substituting the values in the above equations

⇒ 3x-1 = x+47

⇒ 2x = 48

⇒ x = 24

So angle ABD = 24 degree, and angle ABC = 3(24)-1 = 71-1 = 71 degree

Trapezoid $RSTU$ is a cross section of a lampshade. The diagonals of $RSTU$ are congruent, and the measure of $\angle S$ is $112
Alexxandr [17]

Answer:

112°

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the diagonals of trapezoid RSTU are congruent, it is an Isosceles Trapezoid.

One of the properties of an Isosceles Trapezoid is that the base angles are equal.

Therefore if the measure of angle S=112°, the measure of Angle U will also be 112°.

The winners of a carnival game draw a ticket from a box to determine their prize. Each winner draws a ticket and places it back
swat32

Answer:

He generates a random whole number from 1 to 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

Each winner has 3 possibilities, gets cotton candy, gets a shirt, or gets a keychain. We can asign each of this possibiltiies a number, 1 for cotton candy, 2 for the shirt and 3 for a keychain. So, for a simulation, its enough to take one of this whole numbers for each winner.

The box plots compare the number of students in Mr. Ishimoto’s classes and in Ms. Castillo’s classes over the last two semesters
Ilya [14]
-Both box plots show the same interquartile range.
>Interquartile range (IQR) is computed by Q3-Q1.
For Mr. Ishimoto's class, Q3 is 35 and Q1 is 31. 35-31 = 4.
For Ms. Castillo's class, Q3 is 34 and Q1 is 30. 34-30 = 4.

-Mr. Ishimoto had the class with the greatest number of students.
>Mr. Ishimoto had 40 students, represented by the last data point of the whiskers.

-The smallest class size was 24 students.
>Which was Ms. Castillo's class.
