The blue whale is the largest animal living on the earth. The average blue whale measures 100 feet long (30 meters) and weighs 3

00,000 pounds (136,000 kilograms). A whale’s head is 1⁄3 of the length of its body. A new baby whale is 1⁄4the length of a grown whale. The average man is 1⁄17 the length of a blue whale, and 1⁄1,818its weight. A human baby measures 1⁄4 of the length of an adult. Calculate the following information: How long is a whale’s head? How long is a new baby whale? How tall is the average man? How much does the average man weigh? How tall is the average human baby?

The average blue whale measures 100 feet(30 meters) long and weighs 300,000 pounds(136,000 kilograms).

  • A whale’s head is \frac{1}{3} of the length of its body. So, the length of a whale's head =(\frac{1}{3}*100)feet = 33.33 feet or (\frac{1}{3}*30)meter= 10 meter
  • A new baby whale is \frac{1}{4} length of a grown whale. So, the length of a new baby whale =(\frac{1}{4}*100)feet = 25 feet or (\frac{1}{4}*30)meter = 7.5 meter
  • The average man is \frac{1}{17} the length of a blue whale. So, the height of the average man =(\frac{1}{17}*100)feet = 5.88 feet or (\frac{1}{17}*30)meter =1.76 meter
  • The average man is \frac{1}{1818} the weight of a blue whale. So,  the average man weighs = (\frac{1}{1818}*300000)pounds= 165.02 pounds or = (\frac{1}{1818}*136000)kilograms= 74.81 kilograms
  • A human baby measures \frac{1}{4} of the length of an adult. So, the height of the average human baby = (\frac{1}{4}*5.88)feet = 1.47 feet or = (\frac{1}{4}*1.76)meter = 0.44 meter

Using the given formula T = LS

And given the time is 3 minutes (3 x 60 = 180 seconds)and the speed is 4-1/2 inches per second:

180 = L x 4-1/2

Solve for L by dividing both sides by 4-1/2:

L = 180 / 4-1/2

L = 40

The length should be 40 inches.

Answer:

A number line going from 0 to 4.5 in increments of 0.5

Step-by-step explanation:

This solution makes the most sense because 4.5 and 2.5 both have a decimal of 0.5

On a piece of paper, graph y&lt; x-3. Then determine which answer matches<br> the graph you drew
Aneli [31]

Answer:

The graph is shown below.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The inequality of a line to graph is given as:

y

In order to graph it, we first make the 'inequality' sign to 'equal to' sign. This gives,

y=x-3

Now, we plot this line on a graph. The given line is of the form:

y=mx+b Where, 'm' is the slope and 'b' is the y-intercept.

So, for the line y=x-3, m=1,b=-3

The y-intercept is at (0, -3).

In order to draw the line correctly we find another point. Let the 'y' value be 0.

Now, 0=x-3\\x=3

So, the point is (3, 0).

Now, we mark these points and draw a line passing through these two points.

Now, consider the line inequality y. The 'y' value is less than x-3. So, the solution region will be region below the line and excluding all the points on the line. So, we draw a broken line and shade the region below it.

The graph is shown below.
