Z to the power of 2 =1

Mathematics
1 answer:
stiv31 [10]2 years ago
3 0

That would be written as:

z^{2} = 1

And the step-by-step equation would be:

z^{2} = 1 → we take the 2 to the right side of the equation and do the IO*

z = \sqrt{1} →we solve for \sqrt{1}

z = 1 → final answer

*Ps - IO is not an existing term and stands for inverse operation. In this case, because when we take to 2 to the right side of the equation (the 2 is a power) it'll have to turn into a square root (because exponents and roots are inverse operations)

Hope it helped,

Helena needs 3.5 cups of flour per loaf of bread and 2.5 cups of flour per batch of muffins. She also needs 0.75 cup of sugar pe
Arlecino [84]
From the given data, we can generate two equations with two unknowns.

We let x = number of loaves of bread
            y = number of batches of muffins

For the equation of the flour requirement:
17 = 3.5x + 2.5y

<span>For the equation of the sugar requirement:
</span>4.5 = 0.75x + 0.75y

We evaluate the solutions by manipulating one of the equations into terms of the other. We use the first equation.We write x in terms of y.

x = (4.5/0.75) - y

Substitute the third equation to the second equation.

17 = (3.5((4.5/0.75)-y)) + 2.5y

Evaluating y and x, we have,

y = 4 and x = 2

Thus, from the amounts she has in hand, she can make 4 loaves of bread and 2 batches of muffins.

A company produces precision 1 meter (1000 mm) rulers. the actual distribution of lengths of the rulers produced by this company
pogonyaev

Let X be the length of rulers. X follows Normal distribution with mean μ and standard deviation σ = 0.02. A sample of size n=4 is drawn from population and sample mean m=1000. We have to find 90% confidence interval for population mean μ.

Here population standard deviation is given to us so we will use z confidence interval for mean. It is given as

(Sample mean - Margin of error , Sample mean + Margin of error)

Where margin of error for z confidence interval is

ME = σ \frac{z_{\alpha/2}}{\sqrt{n}}

Where σ = population standard deviation = 0.02

n= sample size =4

z_{\alpha/2} = Critical z score value for given confidence level

We have to find here 90% confidence interval so confidence level c= 0.9

α = 1 -c =1-0.9 = 0.1

z_{\alpha/2} = z_{0.1/2} = z_{0.05}

Here we have to find z score value such that area below it is -z is 0.05 and above z is 0.05

Using excel function to find z score value

=NORM.S.INV(0.05) = -1.645

For calculating confidence interval we consider positive z score value which is 1.645

So the margin of error is

ME = \frac{0.02 * 1.645}{\sqrt{4}}

ME = 0.01645

90% confidence interval for mean is

(Sample mean - ME, Sample mean+ME)

1000- 0.01645, 1000+0.01645

(1000.01645, 999.9836)

Rounding interval upto 3 decimal places

(1000.016, 999.984)

90% confidence interval for population mean is (1000.016, 999.984)

A square has a side length of 1.2 feet. If the square is dilated by a factor of 2.5, what is the length of a side of the new squ
Alika [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

It starts out at 1.2 feet. In math, dilation means make larger or smaller, so I have to give you both answers. Check with your instructor to see what the question intends.

Larger

1.2 * 2.5 = 3

Smaller

1.2 / 2.5 = 0.48

At a deli counter someone bought 1 3/4 pounds of ham for $14.50 someone bought 2 1/2 pounds of turkey for $26.25 someone bought
AleksAgata [21]

Answer:

The roast beef is most expensive per pound

Step-by-step explanation:

First convert mixed number to an improper fraction

case A) Ham

1\frac{3}{4}\ pounds=\frac{1*4+3}{4}=\frac{7}{4}\ pounds

Find the unit rate

\frac{14.50}{(7/4)}= 8.29\frac{\$}{pound}

case B) Turkey

2\frac{1}{2}\ pounds=\frac{2*2+1}{2}=\frac{5}{2}\ pounds

Find the unit rate

\frac{26.25}{(5/2)}= 10.5\frac{\$}{pound}

case C) Roast beef

Find the unit rate

\frac{5.50}{(3/8)}= 14.67\frac{\$}{pound}

Answer:

Method 2:

⇒(1,000-10)×(30+7)
=1,000×(30+7)-10×(30+7)
=30,000+7,000-300-70
=37,000-370
=36,630

Method 1:

990×(40-3)
=990×40-990×3
=39,600 -2970
=36,630
