Answer:

Explanation:

Hello,

On the attached picture, you will find the corresponding flowchart for the requested extraction.

In this case, the first step consists on the addition of ether and diluted hydrochloric acid in order to ionize the 4-chloroaniline into an aqueous-like phase to subsequently reform it to neutral. On side of it, the other phase contains both 4-chlorobenzoic acid and 1,4- dichlorobenzene and is separated again with ether but now in the presence of sodium bicarbonate in order to form aqueous-like sodium 4-chlorobenzoate to subsequently take it back to 4-chlorobenzoic acid (second phase 1 sub process). At the time, the 1,4- dichlorobenzene is separated through the second organic phase 2.

This extraction is attained by forming non-organic intermediates which are immiscible with the additional organic fraction in each step, in order to achieve the process successfully by gravity separations (separating funnel).

Best regards.

What is the change in enthalpy in kilojoules when 3.24 g of CH3OH is completely reacted according to the following reaction 2 CH
vodka [1.7K]

Answer:

12.78 kJ

Explanation:

The correct balanced reaction would be

2CH_3OH\rightarrow 2CH_4+O_2\Delta H=252.8\ \text{kJ}

Mass of methanol = 3.24\ \text{g}

Moles of methanol can be obtained by dividing the mass of methanol with its molar mass (32.04\ \text{g/mol})

\dfrac{3.24}{32.04}=0.10112\ \text{moles}

Enthalpy change for the number of moles is given by

\dfrac{\text{Number of moles of methanol in the reaction}}{\text{Enthalpy change in the reaction}}=\dfrac{\text{Number of moles in 3.24 g of methanol}}{\text{Enthaply in change in the mass of methanol}}

\\\Rightarrow\dfrac{2}{252.8}=\dfrac{0.10112}{\Delta H}\\\Rightarrow \Delta H=\dfrac{0.10112\times 252.8}{2}\\\Rightarrow \Delta H=12.781568\approx 12.78\ \text{kJ}

The change in enthalpy is 12.78 kJ.

What is the boiling point of cyclohexane at 620 mm hg?
Alchen [17]

The right answer is 271.78 degrees for cyclohexane.

For each liquid there is a precise relationship between pressure and boiling temperature, we can define the boiling temperature as the moment when the first bubble of vapor appears on the surface of a liquid.

The density of ice is 0.917 g/cm3. How much volume does 52.3 g of ice occupy? Show your work.
mash [69]

Answer:

The answer is

<h2>57.0 mL</h2>

Explanation:

The volume of a substance when given the density and mass can be found by using the formula

volume =  \frac{mass}{density}

From the question

mass of ice = 52.3 g

density = 0.917 g/cm³

The volume is

volume =  \frac{52.3}{0.917}  \\  = 57.0338058

We have the final answer as

<h3>57.0 mL</h3>

Hope this helps you
