Answer:

(3,6)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that Mila reads at a rate of 2 paragraphs per minute. After reading for 3 minutes, she had read a total of 6 paragraphs.

This situation can be represented with a linear equation written in slope-intercept form,  as

y=2x

where 'x' represents the number of minutes and,

y represents the number of paragraphs.

Since y intercept is 0 i.e. 0 paras in 0 minutes we have the equation as

y=2x

Since no of minutes or paragraphs cannot take negative values this line is defined only in the I quadrant where both x and y are positive

Out of the points given as follows:

(3,6) (2,3) (-3,6) or (-2,6) ,

we can remove last two since they have negative x which is impossible.

Consider  (3,6) (2,3)

Out of these only I point  (3,6) satisfies  y=2x and second point   (2,3) does not satisfy

y=2x

Hence answer is (3,6)

Mila reads at a rate of 2 paragraphs per minute. After reading for 3 minutes, she had read a total of 6 paragraphs.

This situation can be represented with a linear equation written in point-slope form,

Let 'x' represents the number of minutes and,

y represents the number of paragraphs.

In one minute Mila reads 2 paragraphs .

So, y=2x

Let x=1 then y=2

x=2 then y =4

Here slope of equation is 2

Let( x1, y1) and (x2,y2) be the two point the equation y=2x the ,

we can write, (y2 - y1) = m(x2 - x1)

or (y2 - y1) = 2(x2 - x1)

The length of TR is 17 units. What are the lengths of SV and QT? (please hurry i dont get this question) also i need each indivi
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

<h2>QT = 21</h2><h2>SV = 41</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

From the diagram, it can be seen that TR is parallel to RV. This means that TR = RV. Given TR = 17 and RV = 3x+2

3x+2 = 17

3x = 17-2

3x = 15

x = 5

RV = 3(5)+2 = 17

QV = 4x+1 = 4(5)+1

QV = 21

Using Pythagoras theorem on ΔQRV to get RQ

QV² = QR²+RV²

21² = QR²+17²

QR² = 21²-17²

QR = 12.33

Using Pythagoras theorem on ΔQRT to get QT

From ΔQRT,

QT² = QR²+TR²

QT² = 12.33²+17²

QR² = 152.0289+289

QT² = 441.0289

QT =21

Since TS = 9(5)-4 = 41

Using Pythagoras theorem on ΔTRS

From ΔTRS,

TS² = RS²+TR²

41² = RS²+17²

RS² = 41²-17²

RS² = 1392

RS = 37.31

Similarly Using Pythagoras theorem on ΔRSV

From ΔRSV,

SV² = RV²+RS²

SV² = 17²+37.31²

SV² = 1681.0361

SV = 41

The probability that an appliance is in repair is 0.8. if an apartment complex has 100 such appliances, what is the probability
AleksandrR [38]

Answer:

P(X\geq90) =0.00878

Step-by-step explanation:

This situation can be modeled by a binomial distribution of parameters:

p = 0.8\\\\q = 0.2\\\\n = 100

We want to find the probability that at least 90 are in repair.

<u><em>We can approximate this problem to a normal distribution, where:</em></u>

\mu = np

\mu = 80

\sigma = \sqrt{npq}\\\\\sigma = 4

Then we look for

P(X\geq90) = P(X>90 -0.5)\\\\P(X\geq90) = P(X>89.5)

Then we must find the normal standard statistic Z-score

Z = \frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}

Therefore:

P(X>89.5) = P(\frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{89.5-80}{4})\\\\P(X>89.5) =P(Z>2.375)

Looking in the standard normal table we obtain:

P(Z>2.375) = 0.00878

A restaurant sells 1,725 pounds of spaghetti and 925 pounds of linguini every month. After 9 months, how many pounds of pasta do
VladimirAG [237]
Situation: A restaurant sells 1 725 pounds of spaghetti and 925 pounds of linguini every months. Problem : Find the number of pounds of pasta does the restaurant sell in 9 months. => Pasta is also known as the sphaghetti. And since the restaurant sells 1 725 pounds every month, simply multiply this number by 9 to get the total amount of pounds in 9 months. => 1 725 * 9 = 15 525 pounds in 9 months.

A ramp leading into a building makes a 15o angle with the ground. the end of the ramp is 10 feet from the base of the building.
Oksanka [162]
We are tasked to solved for the length of the ramp having an inclination of 15 degrees with the ground and 10 feet from the end of the ramp to the base of the building of the ground. Using trigonometric properties, we have a formula given an angle and the its opposite sides which is,
sin(Angle)=opposite/hypothenuse
hypothenuse would be the distance or the length of the ramp.
so we have,
sin(15)=10/hypothenuse
Cross-multiply, we have,
hypothenuse=10/sin(15)
using scientific calculator having a DEG mode,
hypothenuse=38.63703
Rounding of in nearest tenth we get,
hypothenuse=38.6 ft
Therefore, the ramp is 38.6 ft long
