There are 81 band members.  :-)

4 rows of 20 = 80 ... with one left over   = 80 + 1  (81)
6 rows of 13 = 78 ... with three left over = 78 + 3  (81)
7 rows of 11 = 77 ... with four left over   = 77 + 4  (81)

Answer:

The answer is 81.

Step-by-step explanation:

When the band members are told to line up in rows of four, but one is left over. This means the overall number id an odd number.

When they are lined up in rows of six, but three are left over. So, eliminate numbers with 3, 5, 6 ,9, 0.

Finally they are lined up in rows of seven, but four are left over.

So, eliminate numbers with 7 also.

So, all eliminated numbers are : 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10

Left numbers are 1.

Given is that the band has fewer than 100 members. So, it can be 71 ,81 ,91

We can check with 81.

81/4 = 20 remainder 1

81/6 = 13 remainder 3

81/7 = 11 remainder 4

So, the answer is 81.

Tickets to a show cost $5.50 for adults and $4.25 for students. A family is purchasing 2 adult tickets and 3 student tickets. If
larisa [96]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The cost of an adult ticket to the show is $5.5

The cost of a student ticket to the show is $4.25

A family is purchasing 2 adult tickets and 3 student tickets. This means that the total cost of 2 adult tickets would be

2 × 5.5 = $11

It also means that the total cost of 3 student tickets would be

3 × 4.25 = $12.75

The total cost of 2 adult tickets and 3 student tickets would be

11 + 12.75 = $23.75

If the family pays $25, the exact amount of change they should receive is

25 - 23.75 = $1.25

The graph represents the feasible region for the system:
morpeh [17]

We have been given a system of inequalities and an objective function.

The inequalities are given as:

y\leq 2x\\
x+y\leq 45\\
x\leq 30\\

And the objective function is given as:

P=25x+20y

In order to find the minimum value of the objective function at the given feasible region, we need to first graph the region.

The graph of the region is shown below:

From the graph, we can see that corner points of the feasible region are:

(x,y) = (15,30),(30,15) and (30,60).

Now we will evaluate the value of the objective function at each of these corner points and then we will compare which of those values is minimum.

\text{At (15,30)}\Leftrightarrow P=25\cdot 15+20\cdot 30=975\\
\text{At (30,15)}\Leftrightarrow P=25\cdot 30+20\cdot 15=1050\\
\text{At (30,60)}\Leftrightarrow P=25\cdot 30+20\cdot 60=1950\\

Hence the minimum value of objective function is 975 and it occurs at x = 15 and y = 30
