The half-life of protactinium-226 is 2 minutes if you started with 20 grams of pa-226 how much do you have after 8 minutes

Biology

Divide the amount in half for every 2 minutes

0 minutes = 20 grams

2 minutes = 20/2 = 10

4 minutes = 10/2 = 5

6 minutes = 5/2 = 2.5

8  minutes = 2.5/2 = 1.25 grams

Electron carrier molecules transfer electrons between metabolic pathways. Choose the electron carriers that transfer electrons f
denis23 [38]

Answer:

from glycolysis to electron transport.-glycolytic pathway

NADH  and FADH2 are the major electron carrier   from glycolysis through the Kreb Cycle to the electron transport chain.

Note-NADH  alone transports electron  from glycolysis  to the Kreb Cycle. while both   NADH and FADH2  transport electrons   from the kreb'cycle  to the electron transport chain.

from citric ac id cycle to the electron transport chain.

as explained above both NADH and FADH2.

The electrons are  in the hydrogen atoms, carried by these co-enzymes. When they reached the matrix, the hydrogen atoms are split into protons and electrons(p and e-). it is these electrons that form gradients which are transported as chains in the matrix. The gradients of the electron generated PMF for pumping Hydrogen atoms into the intramembrane of mitochondrial

Note.

Nicotinamide Adenine Di nucleotide Hydrogen(NADH)

Your friend, Raul, has just bought a school organizer and doesn’t understand why there are three different types of calendars in
DiKsa [7]
The term calendar is for the whole term in school. What classes you would take, where they are at, what you're doing in each class throughout the term. The weekly schedule will be used for what assignments need to be turned into each class that week. The daily organizer will be what you're doing in each class that day. What you will be taking about what assignments you will be doing. It will also be for what classes you will be going through that day.

Pseudomonas sp. has a mass doubling time of 2.4 h when grown on acetate. The saturation constant using this substrate is 1.3 g/l
erastova [34]

Answer:

a)  Cell concentration when the dilution rate is one-half of the maximum is  0.598g cell/L

b) the substrate concentration when the dilution rate is 0.8 D_{max}   is 5.2g/l

c) the maximum dilution rate is : 0.41 h⁻¹

d)  the cell productivity at 0.8  D_{max}   is 2.40g cell/L

Explanation:

Given data :

Mass doubling time of Pseudomonas sp. = 2.4 hr

Saturation constant = 1.3 g/L

Cell yield  on acetate = 0.46g cell/g acetate

We are to find;

a. Cell concentration when the dilution rate is one-half of the maximum.

Here, cell yield =amount of cell produced / amount of substrate consumed.

[S] at 0.5D max is determined using the Monod's equation.

Using the formula :

D = \frac {D_{max}[S] }{ks+[S]}

, where D is the dilution rate,

[S] is substrate concentration; &

Ks is the saturation constant.

By replacing the values, we get :

0.5 = \frac{S}{1.3+[S]}

\\\0.65=0.5[S]

[S]=1.3g/L

The cell concentration at 0.5Dmax= cell yield x substrate consumed at 0.5Dmax.

=0.46×1.3

= 0.598g cell/L

b)

Substrate concentration when the dilution rate is 0.8 D_{max}    is calculated as:

D = \frac {D_{max}[S] }{ks+[S]}

0.8=[S]/1.3+[S]

1.04+0.8[S]=[S]

[S]= 5.2g/L

Therefore ,  the substrate concentration when the dilution rate is 0.8 D_{max}   is 5.2g/l

c)

Maximum dilution rate is calculated using the expression D_{max} = \frac{1}{time}

=1/2.4

=0.41 h⁻¹

So, the maximum dilution rate is : 0.41 h⁻¹

d)

The cell productivity at 0.8 D_{max} can be calculated by multiplying the amount  of the cell yield with the amount of the substrate consumed at 0.8D_{max}

Cell yield = \frac {cell \ productivity \ at \  0.8Dmax}{amount \ of \ substrate\ consumed \at\ 0.8 \D_{max}}

Cell productivity at 0.8 D_{max}    = 0.46 × 5.2

=2.40g cell/L

Therefore, the cell productivity at 0.8  D_{max}   is 2.40g cell/L

List two pieces of evidence from the film justifying the claim that “termite mounds are an advantage to the savanna ecosystem.”
Lunna [17]

Answer:

Termites can spend time building mounds there by aerating the soil and allowing moisture which support the growth of shrubs, grasses, tress.

Through their mounds, their droppings contain phosphorus and nitrogen which add to the soil nutrients and supports grasses, shrubs and trees growth.

Explanation:

Termites are commonly found in Savannah ecosystem in African areas and they build mounds. Termites mounds consist of their fecal droppings , saliva and clay.

Termites can spend time building mounds there by aerating the soil and allowing moisture which support the growth of shrubs, grasses, tress.

Through their mounds, their droppings contain phosphorus and nitrogen which add to the soil nutrients and supports grasses, shrubs and trees growth.
