Calculate the gravitational force on the washers using the formula F = ma where a = 10 m/s2 and m is the mass of the washers. Us

e the mass of the washers in kilograms. Record your calculations, to no more than three decimal places, in Table D. Note that the force of gravity on the washers is the same as the applied force of the washers on the car. The force applied to the car by one washer is kg · m/s2. The force applied to the car by two washers is kg · m/s2. The force applied to the car by three washers is kg · m/s2. The force applied to the car by four washers is kg · m/s2.

Kara Less was applying her makeup when she drove into South's busy parking lot last Friday morning. Unaware that Lisa Ford was s
exis [7]

Answer

given,

Mass of Kara's car = 1300 Kg

moving with speed = 11 m/s

time taken to stop = 0.14 s

final velocity = 0 m/s

distance between Lisa ford and Kara's car = 30 m

a) change in momentum of Kara's car

  Δ P = m Δ v

  \Delta P = m (v_f-v_i)

  \Delta P = 1300 (0 - 11)

  Δ P = - 1.43 x 10⁴ kg.m/s

b) impulse is equal to change in momentum of the car

    I = - 1.43 x 10⁴ kg.m/s

c) magnitude of force experienced by Kara

  I = F x t

 I is impulse acting on the car

 t is time

  - 1.43 x 10⁴= F x 0.14

    F = -1.021 x 10⁵ N

negative sign represents the direction of force

Un tubo de acero de 40000 kilómetros forma un anillo que se ajusta bien a la circunferencia de la tierra. Imagine que las person
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

82.76m

Explanation:

In order to find the distance of the steel ring to the ground, when its temperature has raised by 1°C, you first calculate the radius of the steel tube before its temperature increases.

You use the formula for the circumference of the steel ring:

C=2\pi r    (1)

C: circumference of the ring = 40000 km = 4*10^7m (you assume the circumference is the length of the steel tube)

you solve for r in the equation (1):

r=\frac{C}{2\pi}=\frac{4*10^7m}{2\pi}=6,366,197.724m

Next, you use the following formula to calculate the change in the length of the tube, when its temperature increases by 1°C:

L=Lo[1+\alpha \Delta T]         (2)

L: final length of the tube = ?

Lo: initial length of the tube = 4*10^7m

ΔT = change in the temperature of the steel tube = 1°C

α: thermal coefficient expansion of steel = 13*10^-6 /°C

You replace the values of the parameters in the equation (2):

L=(4*10^7m)(1+(13*10^{-6}/ \°C)(1\°C))=40,000,520m

With the new length of the tube, you can calculate the radius of a ring formed with the tube. You again solve the equation (1) for r:

r'=\frac{C}{2\pi}=\frac{40,000,520m}{2\pi}=6,366,280.484m

Finally, you compare both r and r' radius:

r' - r = 6,366,280.484m - 6,366,197.724m = 82.76m

Hence, the distance to the ring from the ground is 82.76m

Write a hypothesis about the effect of the fan speed on the acceleration of the cart. Use the "if . . . then . . . because . . .
iragen [17]
As an object accelerates i.e., change it's velocity(either direction or speed), the position of the object depends on two factor; If the acceleration was direction based then it might have a zero displacement for eg: if it travels in circle. or it might have a net displacement if it travels in a straight line, quantitatively
s = ut +  \frac{1}{2} at {}^{2}
where,
s = displacement
u = initial velocity
v = final velocity
a = acceleration
t = time

Now, for the hypothesis;
There is no direct relationship between fan speed and acceleration but anyways generally speaking if we do have a relationship that with more fan speed we have a larger displacement of air i.e., a more force i.e., greater acceleration
Thus, it can be said, well not exactly scientific, that with a greater fan speed there will be greater acceleration. if fan speed is increased then acceleration will be more.

To exercise, a man attaches a 4.0 kg weight to the heel of his foot. When his leg is stretched out before him, what is the torqu
Masja [62]

Answer:

B. τ = 16 Nm

Explanation:

In order to find the torque exerted by the weight attached to the heel of man's foot, when his leg is stretched out. We use following formula:

τ = Fd

here,

τ = Torque = ?

F = Force exerted by the weight = Weight = mg

F = mg = (4 kg)(10 m/s²) = 40 N

d = distance from knee to weight = 40 cm = 0.4 m

Therefore,

τ = (40 N)(0.4 m)

<u>B. τ = 16 Nm</u>
