The new-product development process at GoPro reflects their environmental scanning efforts. First, GoPro marketers make observations of consumer behavior and they use those observations to create new product ideas. In the idea generation step, typically ideas will come internally, GoPro employees are constantly thinking of new ideas from consumers, retailers, and a team of amateur and professional athletes. GoPro also has a website where content can be submitted, the most popular content is reviewed and is often used to come up with new and creative ideas. The next step is screening and evaluation of ideas to determine if they are worth further time and effort. GoPro will assess a variety of quantitative requirements of new technologies and assess qualitative aspects of new ideas. Once an idea is approved, GoPro will start its business analysis step. The company must keep in consideration the possibility of cannibalizing sales of its own products. The amount of time needed to reach break-even points and the likely timing for competitors to respond to new products must also be considered. The next step is the development stage, this is where the company starts to develop a prototype. Often, 3D printers are used to produce prototypes, these are used to check aesthetics and dimensions of new products. Once the final design is determined, functional prototypes are then developed. The sixth step is where GoPro begins market testing. Employees go out and test GoPro products to provide feedback to the development teams. A second round of testing sends prototypes to social media advocates, professional photographers, athletes and past consumers to identify any needed changes to the product. The final stage is commercialization

Question:

If the marginal product of capital net depreciation equals 8 percent, the rate of growth of population equals 2 percent, and the rate of labor-augmenting technical progress equals 2 percent, to reach the Golden Rule level of the capital stock, the ____ rate in this economy must be _____.

A) saving; increased

B) population growth; decreased

C) depreciation; decreased

D) total output growth; decreased

Answer

The correct answer is A) Saving rate of the economy must be increased in order for the economy to reach the Golden Rule Level of the Capital Stock.

Explanation

Golden Rule Level of the Capital Stock is the level at which

MPK = δ,

Where MPK is Marginal Product; and δ the depreciation rate;

so that the marginal product of capital equals the depreciation rate.

In the Solow growth model, a high saving rate results in a large steady-state capital stock and a high level of steady-state output. A low saving rate results to a small steady state capital stock and a low level of steady-state output. Higher saving leads to faster economic growth only in the short run. An increase in the saving rate raises growth until the economy reaches the new steady state. That is, if the economy retains a high saving rate, it will also maintain a large capital stock and a high level of output, but it will not maintain a high rate of growth forever .

Cheapo Manufacturing decided to lease a 100,000 square foot facility. What type of lease will they most likely sign? A net lease
Alinara [238K]

Net lease type will be the most likely sign by Cheapo manufacturing.

Explanation:

Single net leases, which are frequently alluded to as a Net or N rent, are not as regular in the rental world. In a rent this way, the proprietor moves a negligible measure of hazard to the occupant, who covers the property charges. This implies some other cost, for example, protection, support and fixes, and utilities—are the proprietor's obligation. The landowner is likewise liable for any support and additionally fixes that must be finished over the span of the rent inside the property.

Occupants under a solitary net rent wind up paying marginally lower lease than with a standard rent as a result of the additional expense of property charges. In any case, a higher rental installment doesn't reduce the landowner's obligation regarding staying up with the latest.

Ierofanga [76]

Answer:

$7,986

Explanation:

To calculate the equivalent annual cost for 5 year period at an interest rate of 10% per year we need to go through some minor calculations first.

DATA

Cost in first year (A) = $10,000

Decrease in cost each year after the first year (G) = $560

Interest rate = 10%

Time period = 5 years

Solution

EAC = A - G (A/G, i, n)

EAC = $9,000 - $560(A/G, 10%, 5)

EAC = $9,000 - ($560 * 1.8101)

EAC = $9,000 - $1,013.656

EAC = $7,986
