Suppose a company did $3,000,000 in annual maintenance in 2013 and expects 85% of those to renew for 2014. Suppose that product

sales for 2013 were $3,000,000 (which included free maintenance in 2013) and 60% of those were expected to pay an annual maintenance of 20% of the purchase price in 2014. What will be the annual maintenance collected in 2014?

Answer:

In year 2013 annual maintenance done = $ 3,000,000

Out of this 85% is expected to renew in 2014 = 0.85\times3000000 = $2,550,000

Now Sales in 2013 = $3,000,000

60% of these sales = 0.60\times3000000 = $1,800,000

Now out of this 60%, 20% annual maintenance was expected to be paid

In 2014 = 0.20\times1800000 = $360000

So, Total annual maintenance in 2014 = 2550000+360000

= $2,910,000

Start with $30.25.
Subtract $14.00 to isolate the amount of money spent on admission.
30.25-14.00= 16.25. As a group $16.25 was spent on admission.
Admission is 3.25 per person. Divide 16.25 by 3.25.
16.25/3.25=5.

A computer is normally $899 but is discounted to $799. What percent of the original price does Shawn pay?
Oksi-84 [34.3K]
<span>A computer is normally $899 but is discounted to $799.
Question: What percent of the original price does Shawn pay?
=> 799 dollars is the discounted price
=> 899 dollars is the original price
=> 899 – 799 = 100 dollars – the discount price that was deducted to the original price.
Solution
=> 100 / 899 = 0.11
=> 0.11 * 100% = 11%
Thus, the computer has a discount of 11%.</span>

Members of a school club are buying matching shirts. They know at least 25 members will get a shirt. Long-sleeved shirts are $10
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

Maximum number of long sleeved shirt that can be purchase is, 8

and

Minimum number of long sleeved shirt that can be purchased is, 0

Step-by-step explanation:

let y represents the number of short sleeves  and x represents the number of long sleeves.

As per the given condition:

Members of a school club are buying matching shirts. They know at least 25 members will get a shirt.

we have;

x+y\geq 25              or

y\geq 25 -x    ....[1]

Since, long sleeves shirt are $ 10 each and short sleeves shirt are $ 5 each.

then;

Total cost of long sleeves is 10x and

the total cost of short sleeves is 5y

Also; the club can spend no more than $ 165

then;

10x+5y\leq 165

 5y\leq 165 -10x or

y\leq 33-2x ......[2]

Solving the inequality equation with the graph :

Plot equation [1] and [2]; we get the maximum at point (8 , 17)

so, x= 8.

If we take minimum value of x =0 then y is between 25 and 33.

so, the solution area is between the lines to the left of where the lines intersect.

Therefore, the maximum number of long sleeved shirts can be purchased is 8 and the minimum number of long sleeved shirt can be purchased is 0
