Answer:

The correct answer is:

              Option: A

                 A.   720

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that:

Audrey plans to conduct books singing in different cities.

She wishes to visit Knoxville, Chattanooga, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Richmond.

i.e. she has to visit 6 cities.

The total number of different ways she can visit each city and return to her starting point in Wilmington is:

    6×5×4×3×2×1

( Since from Wilmington she may chose to go to any of one city out of 6 cities.

and the from there she may chose any one of the five cities remaining from the visit and then from there to any one of the four cities left and so on till she is left with the last place and then from that last city there is just one possibility i.e. returning t Wilmington )

Hence, the total number of ways are: 720

An airplane is traveling at a speed of 200 miles/hour with a bearing of 240°. The wind velocity is 60 miles/hour at a bearing of
Kisachek [45]

This is a vector problem so we will split it by components and add them.

x direction

200sin(240) + 60sin(25) = -147.847985

y direction

200cos(240) + 60cos(25) = -45.6215327

To find the actual speed we now find the magnitude

(-147.847985)^2 + (-45.6215327)^2 = c^2

c = 154.72669748 mph

To find the direction we can do arctan of the different directions:

arctan(-147.847985/-45.6215327) = 252.85 degrees.

So the plane is going 154.73 mph at 252.85 degrees :)

7. Write a paragraph proof of theorem 3-8: in a plane, if two lines are perpendicular to the same line, then they are parallel t
Monica [59]

One correct answer is:

Let m and n be lines that intersect line a. Let m be perpendicular to a. This means that all 4 of the angles formed by the intersection of m and a are 90°.

Let n be perpendicular to a. This means that all 4 of the angles formed by the intersection of n and a are also 90°.

Since all of the angles are congruent, this means that the same-side interior angles (between lines m and n) are congruent. If two same-side interior angles are congruent, then the lines are parallel.

A cooling tower for a nuclear reactor is to be constructed in the shape of a hyperboloid of one sheet. The diameter at the base
timurjin [86]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation for a hyperboloid of one sheet, with center at the origen and axis along z-axis is:

(x/a)²  +  (y/b)²   -  (z/c)²  =  1                         (1)

We have to find a , b, and c

We can express equation (1)

(x/a)²  +  (y/b)²    =  (z/c)² + 1                 (2)

Now if we cut the hyperboloid with planes parallel to xy plane we get for z = k ( K = 1 , 2 , 3 and so on ) circles of different radius

(x/a)²  +  (y/b)²    =  (k/c)² + 1

at z = k = 0 at the base of the hyperboloid  d = 300   or r = 150 m

we have

(x/a)²  +  (y/b)²   = 1

x²  +  y²   =   a²                a² = (150)²       a = b = 150

and    x²  +  y²  = (150)²

Now the other condition is at 200 m above the base d = 500 m   r = 250 m  minimum diameter then in equation (2)  we have:

(x/a)²  +  (y/b)²    =  (z/c)² + 1

(1/a)² [ x² + y² ]  = (z/c)² + 1

but x² + y² = r² and in this case r = 250 m then

(250)²/(150)²   =  (z/c)² + 1    ⇒ (62500/ 22500)  =  (200/c)² + 1

2,78  =  40000/c² + 1

2.78c²  =  40000  + c²

1.78c² = 40000

c²  =  40000/1.78

c²  = 22471.91

c = 149,91

Then we finally have the equation:

x²/(150)²   + y² /(150)² - z²/149,91  = 1

Select all the equations where n= 6 is a solution.
timurjin [86]

Answer:

4=10-n

3=n/2

8n=48

Step-by-step explanation:

Because for the first one instead of subtracting 10-n you will subtract 10-4, which is 6 so that one and for the second one you would do the inverse of division and multiply 3x2and get 6 and then for the fourth one you will divide 8/48 and get 6

Hoped this helped!!! Have a Great Day!!! Pls give me BRAINLIEST!!
