Answer:

20. Arthur and Jamie are 39.1 meters are apart

21. Arthur is closer to Cameron

22. Jamie is the closest to the soccer ball

Step-by-step explanation:

* "I have added screenshot of the complete question as well as

  the diagram)

20.

∵ The location of Arthur is (20 , 30)

∵ The location of Jamie is (45 , 60)

- Lets use the rule of the distance to find how they are far apart

∵ d=\sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2}+(y_{2}-y_{1})^{2}}

- Let the location of Arthur is (x_{1},y_{1}) and the location

 of Jamie is (x_{2},y_{2})

∴ d=\sqrt{(45-20)^{2}+(60-30)^{2}}=\sqrt{(25)^{2}+(30)^{2}}=39.1

∴ d = 39.1 meters

* Arthur and Jamie are 39.1 meters are apart

21.

- To find who is closest to Cameron, find the distance between

  Cameron and each one of them

∵ The location of Cameron is (70 , 10)

- By using the rule of the distance find the distance between

 Cameron and Arthur d1 and the distance between Cameron

 and Jamie d2

∵ d1=\sqrt{(70-20)^{2}+(10-30)^{2}}=\sqrt{(50)^{2}+(-20)^{2}}=53.9

∴ d1 = 53.9 meters

∵ d2=\sqrt{(70-45)^{2}+(10-60)^{2}}=\sqrt{(25)^{2}+(-50)^{2}}=55.9

∴ d2 = 55.9 meters

∵ The distance between the Cameron and Arthur is 53.9 meters

∵ The distance between the Cameron and Jamie is 55.9 meters

∵ The distance between Arthur and Cameron < the distance

  between Jamie and Cameron

∴ Arthur is closer to Cameron

22.

- To know who is closest to the soccer ball find the distance

 between it and them

∵ The location of the soccer ball is (35 , 60)

∵ d1 is the distance between Cameron and it

∵ d2 is the distance between Arthur and it

∵ d3 is the distance between Jamie and it

∴ d1=\sqrt{(70-35)^{2}+(10-60)^{2}}=\sqrt{(35)^{2}+(-50)^{2}}=61.0

∴ d1 = 61.0 meters

∴ d2=\sqrt{(20-35)^{2}+(30-60)^{2}}=\sqrt{(-15)^{2}+(-30)^{2}}=33.5

∴ d2 = 33.5 meters

∴ d3=\sqrt{(45-35)^{2}+(60-60)^{2}}=\sqrt{(10)^{2}+(0)^{2}}=10

∴ d3 = 10 meters

∵ d3 is the shortest distance

∴ Jamie is the closest to the soccer ball

- You can find this answer by easiest way if you put the location of the soccer ball on the picture of the field

Determine which equations below, when combined with the equation 3x-4y=2, will form a system with no solutions. Choose all that
svetoff [14.1K]
Two equations will not have solution if they are parallel and have different y-intercepts. Parallel lines have the same slope. In a slope-intercept form, the equation of the line can be expressed as,

        y = mx + b

where m is slope and b is the y-intercept.

Given: 3x - 4y = 2
Slope-intercept: y = 3x/4 - 1/2

A. 2y = 1.5x - 2
Slope-intercept: y = 3x/4 - 1

B. 2y = 1.5x - 1
Slope-intercept:  y = 3x/4 - 1/2

C. 3x + 4y = 2
Slope-intercept:  y = -3x/4 + 1/2

D. -4y + 3x = -2
Slope-intercept: y = 3x/4 + 1/2

Hence, the answers to this item are A and D.

3.5 hours:$10 1/2 hour:$1.25. What is the unit rate in dollars per hour for each company?
Rasek [7]

One company wants $10 per 3.5 hours, so they want 10 / 3.5 ≈ 2,86 dollars per hour (after rounding to the closest hundreths).

Second company wants $1.25 per half an hour, so they want 2 * 1,25 = 2,50 dollars per hour.

The unit rate is 2,86:2,50

The slope of a line is 2. The y-intercept of the line is –6. Which statements accurately describe how to graph the function?
Ne4ueva [31]
A because (0,-6) is the y-intercept so you start at the point you know. Then because slope is a rise over run fraction the slope can also be written as 2/1 which is rise 2 over 1.

The commute time to work in the U.S. Has a bell shaped distribution with a population mean of 24.4 minutes and a population stan
Schach [20]

Answer:

Q1 a) 0.9545

b) 0.02275

c) 0.97725

Q2 z is approximately equal to -1.466

Step-by-step explanation:

Q1 The given information are;

The mean time to commute to work = 24.4 minutes

The standard deviation = 6.5 minutes

a) The z-score for 11.4 is given as follows;

Z=\dfrac{x-\mu }{\sigma }

Where;

x = Observed value 11.4

μ = The mean = 24.4 minutes

σ = The standard deviation = 6.5 minutes

Z=\dfrac{11.4-24.4 }{6.5 } = -2

The z-score for 37.4 is given as follows;

Z=\dfrac{37.4-24.4 }{6.5 } = 2

-2 < z < 2, which gives, from the z-score table;

The probability of commute time to be between 11.4 minutes and 37.4 minutes =  0.97725 - 0.02275 = 0.9545

b) From the z-score table, the probability that the commute time to be less than 11.4 minutes = The probability at z = -2 = 0.02275

c) From the z-score table, the probability that the commute time to be greater than 37.4 minutes = The probability at z = 2 = 0.97725

Q2 The the z-score that corresponds to a commute time of 15 minutes is given as follows;

Z=\dfrac{x-\mu }{\sigma }

Z=\dfrac{15-24.4 }{6.5 } = -\dfrac{94}{65} \approx -1.466
