Explanation:

The Exon Junction Complex (EJC) is a eukaryotic molecular machine that interacts with spliced mRNA upstream of exon-exon junctions, providing a binding platform for other trans-acting proteins that determine the fate of the mRNA.  The spliceosome deposits the ~335kD EJC in a non-sequence specific manner 20-24 nucleotides upstream of an exon-junction.  Functionally, the EJC aids in nuclear export of spliced mRNAs, assists in nonsense-mediated decay of incorrectly spliced mRNAs containing premature stop codons, and enhances translation efficiency.

Pre-mRNA bound by a spliceosome is usually not exported from the nucleus, so as to make sure that only fully-processed mRNA travels to the cytoplasm to be translated.  A protein called the mRNP exporter binds to the EJC, both through RNA interactions and interactions with the EJC-associated protein REF (RNA export factor) to help pre-mRNA exit the nuclear pore complex.

Interestingly, the efficiency of unspliced mRNA export is dependent on the length; longer mRNAs are exported more efficiently than shorter mRNAs. In spliced mRNAs, however, once the 5' exon is long enough to bind the EJC, the length of the spliced mRNA does not affect the export efficiency.

There are a certain number of EJCs in a cell, and they must be recycled in order to continue tagging mature mRNAs. Once in the cytoplasm, the ribosome-associated regulator protein (PYM) acts as a dissociation factor.

why is it important that ions being transported across a cell membrane be shielded from the interior of the lipid bilayer
Degger [83]

The answer is The ions are protected inside the lipid bilayer so that it is not pushed back to a more polar environment.

The lipid bilayer is mainly composed of lipids (phospholipids and cholesterol), and is also composed of proteins such as transporters.

The ions (which are polar) can not cross directly through the lipids because they will repel them due to their apolarity. On the other hand they can easily pass through protein channels that will protect them during their passage (the proteins are more polar than lipids).

Cinnabar colored eyes (cn) and reduced bristles (rd) are autosomal recessive genes and lobe shaped eyes (L) is an autosomal domi
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

The correct genotypic notation for a wild type with phenotypic characteristics: red eyes, long bristle and round eyes will be any of CNRDll, CnRdl, CnRDl or CNRdl if c, n, r and d are capable of independent assortment and CNRDl if they cannot.

Explanation:

The eye color and bristle size is coordinated by either recessive cn and dominant CN or Cn genes. The wild type in questions has red color eyes, which is a dominant trait coordinated by CN or Cn if c and n can undergo assortment independently or just CN if they cannot. The second characteristics of the wild type is long bristle. We were told that reduced bristle is coordinated by recessive rd Gene. Then the long bristle in our specimen wild type will have dominant genotypic notification of RD or Rd, depending if r and d can undergo assortment independently. The last trait is a round eyes, which is a recessive trait controlled by recessive allele l. Therefore, the combined characteristics of red eye color, long bristle and round eyes shape of the wild type will be CNRDl or any of CNRDll, CnRdl, CnRDl CNRdl depending on the segregation pattern of c, n, r and d.

A human RBC is approximately 6 µm in diameter. An unknown bacterium measures 1 ocular space using the oil immersion objective co
butalik [34]

Answer:

The following is the formula to determine the size from minor spaces and ocular spaces on the stage micrometer:

Size = Number of minor spaces * 10 micrometer / Number of ocular spaces

A = Number of minor spaces is 2 and the number of ocular space is 1,

Size = 2 * 10 / 1 = 20 micro micrometer. Thus, the size of a bacterium is 20 micrometers.

B = Thus, it can be said that the size of the bacterium is almost 4 times bigger in comparison to a human red blood cell, which is 6 micrometers in diameter.
